I'm looking for a way to link to the title of Psalm 56. Using "Psa. 56:1" skips the title, and "Psa. 56" produces no link at all. Any suggestions?
It depends upon the translation you are using. If you are using a translation that counts the title as the first verse Ps 56:1 works. If the version doesn't count the title as a verse, the format is Ps 56:title
Thanks for the reply. I'm using KJV 1900, which apparently doesn't count the title as part of the first verse, since "Psa. 56:1" doesn't bring up the title. I also tried "Psa. 56:title", but RefTagger doesn't flag that as a reference (i.e., there's no link, though other references are correctly linked on the same page). Could this be a bug?
Actually, you can see the problem in this post. The forum is apparently set to use the ESV, but neither "Psa 56:1" nor "Psa 56:title" brings up the title (the latter not being linked at all, as I described).
Use zero for the verse: Ps. 56:0 (which seems to be a reference to the whole chapter, as it displays multiple verses in the pop-up).
Or, use bibleref HTML markup like this: <cite class="bibleref" title="Ps. 56:title">Ps. 56:title</cite> which produces this: Ps. 56:title
See here: http://reftagger.com/#bibleref
I like the bibleref markup better for appearance, and it works perfectly. Thanks very much!
Use zero for the verse: Ps. 56:0
Oops, that was what I thought it was before I ran my double check.[:$]
