I can not use it! L4 is often closed.

No matter the task you do, search syntax, adding a note, or simply reading the Bible or any other book.

I uninstalled Logos 4 and installed it again. Always the same, after 1 or 2 minutes is automatically closed. Has been the same since the last 2 updates.

I have:
Logos Bible Software 4.2b (4.22.5.1104)
Mac OS 10.6.7 (10J869)
Macbook with:
Intel Core Duo 2.4 GHz
RAM GB DDR3 1067 Mhz

What I can do?

    Hi Ernesto

Can you provide logs after Logos 4 has closed?

Details of how to do this are at http://wiki.logos.com/Mac_Troubleshooting#How_to_Report_Bugs_in_Logos_4_Mac

Hi Ernesto- I encountered what sounds like the same problem you are experiencing.  I could only overcome it because I also have Logos 4 for Windows running on my Mac (using Parallels) and this problem is not effectring the Windows version.  It seems that the current update might have a bug where if the layout trying to load when Logos 4 Mac is first opened contains an open search tab it will cause the program to crash.  I went into the Windows version of Logos 4 and deleted the search tab that I had open and then synced to the Logos server so that the tab was no longer in the layout when I opened in Logos 4 Mac.  I say all this to say that, brother, there is hope that the bug will be identified and fixed in the next update.  Please see the thread in this forum dated May 19

    Hi Graham.

    My "Loggin" folder... 2477.Logging.zip

    Thanks!

Randy, Thanks for your help. I'll do the same as you. I am running Parallels on My Mac so I also have installed the Windows version of Logos4 too.

    Thanks Ernesto

This shows an "unhandled exception" condition - hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will be able to work out what is going on here.

Thank you for your logs.  It would be helpful if you would let us know whether or not Randy's fix works for you as well.

Since the program is still crashing unexpectedly, if you could post new logs I will send them, along with your previous logs, to the Developers for investigation.

Noticed crash at 16:06:45 was followed by launching Logos 4.2b on Mac at 16:06:53 (overwrote Logos4.log file that had diagnostic information corresponding to crash at 16:06:45).

At 17:30:39 Logos4.log file shows Notes updated, sync manager upload, download, and another crash (stacktrace).  Not know if crash (using Rich Text Editor) from Note editing or processing downloading sync items.

Noticed Logos 4.2b version (4.22.5.1104) in log files.  Logos 4.2b SR-1 (4.22.5.1109) was released Wed 25 May, release notes mention fix for searching a range (not know if fix helpful for this crash scenario).

If (when) Logos 4 Mac crashes again, please compress Logging folder before launching "Logos Bible Software 4" so can reply to this thread and attach new archive file.

Observation: am aware of several Logos 4 users that edit Notes using Logos 4 PC then sync to Logos 4 Mac (since PC currently has more note features than Mac).

    Keep Smiling [:)]
