I've completed most of the Romans Reading Outline for those who may be studying that book (You can look it up in the Logos Reading List Tool or view it online at http://topics.logos.com/Romans_Reading_Outline. I decided to go for a larger book and I figured Romans would be referenced the most :-) The Journals are pretty much included. I'm working through the rest of my library now.
All but 1 or 2 of the reading books are locked. Too bad.

Unfortunately those without the Theological Journals will see far fewer unlocked resources. I still have to go through most of my non-journal resources, though.

However, I would like to know what the differences might be between a Reading List, in general, and a Passage Guide. What are the benefits that I might find in a Reading List as apposed to a Passage Guide.

Each reading list will have a different purpose. The way I am using them for my reading outlines is probably not how they intended it. My purpose is to pull together resources that deal with a particular passage but that would not appear in a passage Guide because they are not commentaries. This list is intended to complement the passage guide.
For instance, if you are studying Romans 5:7 you would run a passage guide on that verse and find lots of commentaries that discuss it. However Journals and non-commentary resources usually focus on one particular aspect of the verse and can bring the passage to you from a unique perspective. So after you look over the passage guide, you can open up the Romans Reading Outline and scroll down to Romans 5:7. There is one Journal article that focuses exclusively on that verse. There may also be other passages that discuss it but include it in a range of verses so if you scroll up the reading list you will find it is also discussed in an article dealing with 5:6-11, 5:1-11, 5:1-21, a couple of articles discussing Romans 5-8, etc.
You could do a search to try to find these. However a search of large text for Rom. 5:7 yields no results because references are often not tagged as references within headings. You could search all text in all the journals for Rom. 5:7 and sort it by Count which in my library yields 103 results. This does put the journal article at the top, and generally if you focus on articles that mention the reference over 20 times you can find the articles that deal most specifically with your verse. However I fear this may be hit or miss. I'm hoping the reading list makes it quicker to find an article and if you are reading and a resource that does not appear in the passage guide discusses a verse very well you can add it into the reading list so others know about it.
