Shalom,
I was interested in purchasing the PrePub The Lexham Discourse Hebrew Bible Bundle which is going for $199. Upon adding to my cart, I didnt see the option to break it up in payments. Can this be arranged even if it's not for 12months?
No, payment plans are not currently available for pre-pubs. It has been a common request, though. Perhaps you'd want to add a suggestion for this on UserVoice and round up votes from other users by plugging the suggestion here on the Logos forums. I think you'd find enough support for the idea to get Logos's attention. They prioritize future development work partly based on how much demand there is for the new suggestions.
Observation: earlier this year, Logos offered a payment plan for one pre-publication => http://blog.logos.com/2011/03/evangelical_exegetical_commentary_payment_plans/
Not know about future Logos online ordering modification to allow payment plan for pre-publications, which is not precluded by payment plan description => http://www.logos.com/paymentplan
Keep Smiling [:)]
Not normally, but I suggest contacting your sales rep to see what they can do for you. You may not get it at the same price as PrePub but it would still be at significant savings. Check with them to see what they can do.
I doubt this is a development issue. When a prepub ships, Logos is hugely in debt for the production costs, and needs to recover that money ASAP (which is why we have the prepub program). When someone buys a "live" product, the production costs have already been covered, and the only major cost Logos incurs is the publisher's share, hence a payment plan for a live product doesn't affect their finances anywhere near like a payment plan for a prepub would.
Note that the one prepub they did offer a plan for is one that ships over many years, which means they don't "need" all the money immediately in the same way, since much of their costs will also come later.
Logos is hugely in debt for the production costs
Minor point, but I highly doubt that this statement is true.
The given prepub project would likely be in a negative cash flow situation just before ship time, but I doubt that each prepub causes Logos to be "hugely in debt"

Clinton
Logos is hugely in debt for the production costs Minor point, but I highly doubt that this statement is true.
I didn't mean that as a statement about Logos overall finances; only as a statement about the finances of that particular resource: at the time of shipping it's all debt. I'm sure I could have expressed that better -- or rather I'm sure someone else could have expressed that better -- but finances isn't the strongest part of my English vocabulary, I'm afraid.
Of course, the other option is the customer can just cancel the purchase altogether. I doubt that helps the bottom line. I am probably going to be forced to do just that here in the next day or so, which I don't want to do but don't really have an option to do otherwise.
...and when something goes off PrePub, in my universe it gets sucked into a black hole, never to be seen again. Ultimatums either do or don't work. For me, if they don't, then they never will.
There was the time when Zondervan Bible Reference Bundle (87 vols.) shipped. The selling price stayed the same as the Pre-Pub price and you could buy it on a payment plan. But that was probably a decision made by Zondervan not Logos. There is no guarantee we will ever have that option. ..
I would suggest that there be a payment plan for prepubs that are $500 and up like they did with the EEC. Personally, I wouldn't have the money to pay for a bundle or set of commentaries that are worth $500 or more. Buying a book here and there adds up even if you think you're getting it cheap, now think about having two big reference bundles on prepub and have them and other books get delivered in the same month or week OR day...phew!!! I'm glad my wallet and my wife keep me in check when I'm about to spend here and there. [:)] Over all, I'm thankful for what I've got. I never thought or even dreamed about having 2238 digital books that are all searchable and help me study God's Word better; especially being a Spanish speaking minister, most brethren that speak Spanish don't really have that many books in their religious library. Anyway, I think, in a sense, it's good not to have a payment plan for prepubs or else everybody would be going crazy and go into debt and perhaps not be able to keep up with the payments -- so smart move by Logos.
By the way, my goal is to grow my Logos library just a little bit more, don't know up to what # of resources though, but please, don't tell my wife...[A]
