I was reading Exodus 32 as part of my Bible reading plan today, and I came across Aaron's building of the "golden calf." It struck me as humorous that God would call the people "stiff-necked." I thought perhaps there might be a connection between "stiff-necked" and "calf." A couple of my resources relate "stiff-necked" with "difficult to yoke" (which is the basis for why I thought it humorous) but they did not tie it back to the golden calf.
If anyone has a fuller library than I do, I would love to know if anyone else sees the connection between "stiff-necked" and the golden calf.
