Qumran Sectarian Manuscripts and the Dead Sea Scrolls Study Edition do not link together well, plus

I am working with Qumran Sectarian Manuscripts and the Dead Sea Scrolls Study Edition, and I have a few questions:

First, I have the two linked together, and I am doing a morph search on QSM for the lemmas בּוא and שֵׁם. I want to see if anyone is said to "come in the name of the LORD" (as in Psalm 118:26). When I do this search I get 20 results in 10 verses. The first result is 1QS 10:13. If I click the link it takes me there in QSM but not in either DSS:SET window (annoyingly both Translations and Transcriptions are abbreviated DSS:SET). To get there with DSS:SET I need to type 1QS Col. x:13 to get it to work. (Yes, I definitely have the windows linked together. For other scrolls they track, but for some they don't.) Is this an error in the software (the product guide says the two will track together) or is there something else I can do to get this to work better?

Second, it would be nice if I could get QSM and DSS:SE Translations to be side-by-side in the search results window as I can with a search of the Old or New Testament, but I cannot find a way to do that. Alternatively if I could scroll over the link and have it give me the English translation that would be helpful, but it won't do that. I thought if I prioritized DSS:SET it would do that, but it didn't.

Third, because I am searching for two words I am afraid that I am missing some if they end up on separate lines. What if one of the words is at the end of one line and the other at the beginning of the next line? This won't come up in a morph search. I can do a Basic search, but then it will give me every scroll that has both words in it, even if the words are columns apart! Is there a way to specify that I want it to search for the words within a certain distance of one another?

On your first problem, I frequently have the same issue in Logos4 where there's multiple indices (especially with hebrew/aramaic). I always switch over to L3 where I can choose the indices in each resource. Here, where Qumran uses a single one, DSS-SE has 3, with SET being the primary.

You can change this by editing the 'Short Title' in Library.

Unfortunately there have been mutliple problems with DSS referencing due to the differencing referencing types. It is getting better (see this old post for some of the problems that are now fixed). But I can confirm the issue you describe here.

It's "under consideration". Perhaps posting a 'me too' comment on that thread might help.

You can use the NEAR or WITHIN XX WORDS or WITHIN XX CHARS commands to do this. As you note, you'll also have to use basic search. You can read more about those commands in the Wiki: http://wiki.logos.com/Detailed_Search_Help#Proximity_Operators

Missed this one in my earlier post, sorry. You're right, that's how it should work. It fails for the same reason that the texts don't link properly. Logos is not doing the 'conversion' from one datatype to another properly, so it doesn't know the English text exists for the QSM links.

I've seen you answer just about every other question I've had - even before I've asked the question - just by searching the forums ... you're always right there with the answer.
