link sets problems

I often find myself working with multiple passages of Scripture at the same time and like to link them to various Bible versions and other resources. If I link the first passage to set A it works fine. But if I go ahead and link the next passage to set B with all of the versions and resources, and then do the same with the next passages on links C, D, etc. and then go back to set A, set A shows the lastest passage I put into the other set instead of what A is supposed to show. This happens with all the sets, the latest set shows up on all of them. I can't get them to hold their set if I switch back and forth. Help! what am I doing wrong?

Are you changing the link set in the resources, or are you making a copy of the tab in the right-click menu?

You would need a copy of each resource you wanted in the various sets.

You cannot have the same resource panel in more than one link set. However, you can open a copy in another tab and have the two in different sets.

Oh I see. I haven't tried that but will do so tomorrw when I start my studying. It seems like Logos should make it so the same resources could be linked in several different sets since we preachers tend to study multiple passages at the same time when in lesson and sermon prep. Thanks for the help. I will look forward your description on how to open copies and make more than one link set with the same resources.

Then you would have chaos, as to which link-set should a particular resource follow?

I will look forward your description on how to open copies and make more than one link set with the same resources.

1 From the Right-Click menu, make a copy of the Bible tab you want in both linked sets. Float the window (Cmd-Shift-F on the Mac).

2 From the Panel Menu, select "Send Hyperlinks Here and set a different Link Set from the first copy

3 Copy the tabs of any other resources you want in this link set and drag them to the floating window. #1 shows the Hyperlink target. #2 shows that I have two Bibles in this linked set (Sorry I set the font so low for the numbers).

If you have any more questions, just let us know.

BTW: You can only have one panel with "Send Hyperlinks Here" set.

I suppose you could slow your system down if you open too many of these sets, but how many rabbit trails can a preacher follow at a time? A member of my SS class gave me a slip of paper from a Chinese Fortune Cookie that reads "If you chase two rabbits, both will escape" I keep it taped to my primary display.

Roger may very well want to take a look there. Steve has constructed some valuable aids, but they require Windows, and I am a confirmed Mac user. [8-|]
