How do I put Hebrew OT and Greek NT in the same window in Logos 4?

Hello. I have been a Logos/Libronix user for several years.

In Libronix, I had three windows in my primary workspace, one for English bibles, one for commentaries, and one for the Greek NT and Hebrew OT. They were linked so that when I typed in a bible reference all three would go to the appropriate place in the text.

I recently upgraded to Logos 4, and have tried to set up the same sort of arrangement, but it does not let me put the Hebrew OT and Greek NT, as well as Greek OT and Vulgate in the same window.

I really do not want to have 4 windows open, because that means one of them will always be wasted space.

Can anyone advise? Thank you.

Hi Ronald,

It is possible.

What I do is opening three different types of resources. (Commentaries, English Bibles and OT).

Then I open the Layouts button on the top-right side of the screen and select the 3 vertical windows.

Then I open the NT. I don't know if you can tell logos in which window it should open a resource. But, when it opens in another window, you can just drag the tab to next to the OT tab. Hope this helps you.

Maybe other have a simpler solution.

You can open a pre-formatted blank Layout (Workspace in Libronix) from the Layouts menu, open resources, drag them to wherever you want and link them as you did in Libronix. See these wiki articles for more information:

Ronald, I think what you're trying to do is something that was not brought over to Logos 4 from Logos 3, which people have said they miss, and that's serial resource associations. With those, you could have one window which would display OT and NT in it from two different resources and would open the appropriate resource depending on where in the Bible you were.

Hi David. Thank you. This will work better than having two separate windows open for OT and NT. But it still does not automatically switch from the BHS to NA when I switch from OT to NT in the English Bibles. I appreciate it.

Hello Rosie. BINGO! In Libronix when I switched from OT to NT in my English Bibles, my Original Language window switched with me. I am glad I am NOT the only one that misses that feature. Patrick and David have given me a workaround, which I appreciate, but I, too, miss the automatic switching in Libronix. I will add my .02 to the discussion at the links you gave me. Thanks again. I am sorry to have bothered everyone, but I was getting very frustrated, and since I am deaf, I cannot use the Video tutorials.

Ronald, even though I wasn't one who answered your question I can assure you that it was not a bother! These forums are full of people who are very glad to help you figure Logos out.
