More crashes

The latest beta is somewhat unstable for me but I am trying to narrow down the circumstances. I have a study in Revelation going and I am nearing the end of the book. My layout for this study has a Passage Guide, Exegetical Guide, NA27, SBL GNT, ESV, Commentaries, and an Information Window. When I try to use the Greek read aloud add in it crashes about 80% of the time. When this crash happens I get the BBoD spinning for 10 seconds or so and then L4 crashes to the desktop. I am also getting a different crash when I try to change the verse reference from the Passage Guide. As soon as I hit enter on the new reference L4 crashes to the desktop. No BBoD just crash.

I will try to grab logs of both situations in a bit and post them to this thread.

Logs would be appreciated; know Exegetical Guide has an issue in Logos 4.3 Beta 6 (from some previously posted logs).

My layout for this study has a Passage Guide, Exegetical Guide,

After my experience described in "Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash", I went through each saved layout, closed the EG, and updated the layout. No crashes have occurred since.

I had deleted the Exegetical Guide but I had not saved, closed L4 and reopened. That combination stabilizes this layout. I will watch my others but I imagine I will have to repeat the steps.

    Thanks!

With multiple crashes when trying to change to layouts with EG, I tried to step through my layouts and close EG tab. This worked with some layouts but crashed the app in others, so just deleted those layouts and rebuilt them without EG.

    Bit of a nuisance. [:(]

Seriously considering withdrawing from the Beta program. I need to use Logos for my ministry. It needs to be pretty stable. Last few Betas, while adding some useful features have been seriously regressive in stability.

Unfortunate, but too true. I keep a stable installation on my laptop, just in case the Beta becomes unusable.

Logos 4.3 Beta cycle has some bugginess reminders of pre-release Alpha's.

Wonder if Logos could provide tips about configuring Logos 4 Mac like PC where different users could run different Logos 4 versions.  The Mac standard configuration has "Logos Bible Software 4" in Applications folder so all users have same version.

While researching AppleScript for complete uninstall (dock icon is bit challenging); looking at Logos 4 Mac configuration files since would like to run stable and beta versions at same time with different Mac users; curious about Logos developer insights concerning potential hazards.

For example, Logos4 launches Indexer when needed along with process watching.

Noticed Mac OS X Lion has sandboxing feature, which may be useful for running stable and beta Logos 4 Mac at same time with different users (changes root mount point in sandbox).

Try creating a different user account on your Mac, and when running the install under that account, drag Logos 4 to a folder other than Applications, such as Documents.
