Yes, James, there are problems with links in this resource using Libronix. I found the links to the OT worked, whereas, those to the NT did not and no pop ups. It may behave differently with L4, but I have yet to download it since I use Libronix a lot, too. It is disappointing. I hope that Logos has a fix planned for this one.

Ditto for me. The curiousity for me is why it's using the Bible-alfNT datatype / indexing. Even my NT oldies uses a Bible indexing.

Denise, I noticed that too but wasn't sure what it meant. Does that prevent the commentary from linking and scrolling along with Bibles?

While Logos does go back and corrects its problems, imho, Logos does produce low quality products when they are first published.

ok, I took a quick look at L4 and it seems to have all the refrences linked and it seems to work fine with biblical refrences and even scrolls along with my bible. So will Logos work on this for those of us loyal Logos users who happen to use L3 or will there be no love for L3? [:'(]

Joan ... I'm not sure. I notice Steve, when he listed out the datatypes on the wiki, didn't know a lot of them (meaning Logos hadn't provided them).

This is a good example of the need for an 'advanced' Logos guide/class/whatever.

In another thread, a Logos employee noted how useful the datatypes are. I'm sure they are, of only .... !

I have had to update both OLSHAUSEN01. and DOUAYRHEIMS. from the ftp site because the updates didn't show when I ran the update script from the web site. Makes me wonder what other updates I may have missed?

Mine worked. Olshausen now shows links to the NT.

EDIT: I checked the date of the olshausen01.lbxlls is dated 6/7/11 in my Resources Folder. But, I checked my Douayrheims.lbxlls and that file was from 2009 so I did that manually.

I am glad you mentioned this. Apparently I have missed out on close
to 20mb of updates. I have been running updates daily from within
Libronix 3.I wonder how this many updates could have been missed.

Since the update script from the Support page did not list the DOUAYRHEIMS and the resource file in my Resources folder was dated 2009, I, too, am wondering if there are other updates that are somehow missing from the list. Is the list all inclusive of every resource one has in one's Resources folder that has a newer file on the ftp site?

I am so glad that Robert shared his experience that the updater did not identify the Douay as being left off the list; I would not have checked mine. Now that I have checked it on both of my machines, neither had that resource listed as needing to be updated and they both clearly did. My question is obvious-why does the Updater identify one resource needing updating on mine and not the other resource when clearly both do? And, beyond that, do I have other resources that the updater is not identifying because I do not know how the updater compiles the list? Why does Jannie have a resource listed that Robert and I didn't?

I seem to remember that someone from the MVP's once posted that to update a resource in L3 it may take several times (recalling up to 4?) opening and closing the SW and running the updater. Anyway I

ran the resource auto update script, which did'nt detect Olshausen's NT Commentary as needing update, but other files (like The Message)
and after I had downloaded all of them prompted me to run another updater (program update? anyway, this one didn't find any update);
opened L3 and confirmed that the NT references in Olshausen still don't work
closed L3
ran resource auto update script again, this time it detected some or all of the previously updated resources along with Olshausen

thus, maybe you need to open/close L3, run the script, open/close L3, run it again to get it going.

I started to compare some file dates in my Libronix Resources folder with the dates of resources on the FTP site and am finding MANY of my older resources seem to have newer dates on the FTP site, yet when I run update scripts I get the message that there are no new updates. I have gotten occasional updates to resources in the past, but I think there is a problem with how the scripts evaluate my system. I have a standard setup with resources in the recommended folder on an XP system which has all the known system updates and Libronix 3.0g. I have some resources that date back to prior to 2010, yet the FTP site shows file dates for some of them in 2010 and 2011. There seems to be a problem somewhere.

I have not manually downloaded the newer files yet, but am wondering if I have missed resource updates such as typo corrections ect. from the past.

When Logos 4 was released I noticed Libronix seemed to update on the fly. But that probably had to do with licenses already being synced from my L4 update happening first. But let's try this the old way.

I don't know if we are referring to the same script but use the one you find in your order summary page (You do have an order summary, don't you? If not call Customer Service to find out why your card was charged without the order getting processed.) This is the link you want to click:

Using the link provided here will allow Libronix to add that license to your Libronix installation. The other scripts look for updates to resources you already have installed. That is why it will miss your new resource. You have to get the license added to your account. (Logos 4 does this automatically.)

This step only looks for program updates,not new resource licenses.

For some reason Libronix did not register changes upon the first restart. I'm guessing it is in the order the program boots; registering the licenses before the new changes are adopted. A simple repeat of the program start-up will accomplish this.(close, re-open) When installing from a third party CD you have to use "Location Manager" to discover the new resources and add them to your hard drive. That step is bypassed with download purchases.

thank you for your input. Actually I had the resource in my L3 downloaded from the order summary when it arrived these days, but had the "early L3-edition", so to speak, i.e. the same problems as others in this thread. Normally I'm not an active Libronix user, as L4 works fine for me, I just like it to keep the two in sync.

I don't know the script that is invoked by clicking the "unlock" button in the order summary, but I was referring to the ResourceAutoUpdate.lbxupd that Jannie posted on page 1 of the thread. Sorry, should have made this more clear with a link. It updated some things and after opening and closing L3 and running it again, it updated further (partly again) and in its second run also updated Olshausen's NT Commentary. So, everything is working for me now.

Out of curiosity I ran it a third time - now it shows "no updates available" or so.

The last few days my Logos 4 homepage reports the David Jeremiah Collection User Guide as updating (over & over & over) Will this be a replacement ditto or an additional ditto? Is it overwriting the file or am I consuming drive space with this "Ground Hog Day" scenario? [~]

Provided you already have the resource, the Resource Updater script (link given in this thread) should list updates but you also have to expand its Optional list - it doesn't show missing resources. The Libronix Update (on Tools menu) does not list resource updates unless they are regarded as "important".

On Windows 7 (maybe Vista as well) I have found that LibSys.exe may not quit when you close L3 and it interferes with functions that require a restart i.e. Update and Refresh. So use Task Manager to kill LibSys.exe after you close L3.

Another possibility is that the resource cache could be corrupted so you need to refresh/delete the cache (kill any LibSys.exe before you restart Libronix).

I reported this problem a year ago! If you have v2 of DJ Lifeworks Logos4 will offer v1, thinking it is the latest. The loop was caused by having v2 in Libronix on the same computer, so I simply hid the Quick Start Guide in L4 and removed it from L3 (no big loss!).

I do not have Logos 4 installed and there is no LibSys.exe task running, so that does not explain the erratic behavior of the Libronix update scripts. I do have my resources synced with the Logos site ect. and have closed and opened Libronix many times. I do know that there is inconsistancy between doing resource updates from within the Libronix program and doing one using the web scripts. (I am talking about updates to existing resources, not new or uninstalled resources.)

Edit: Add: It should not have been necessary to go to the FTP site to get the resource updates, I should have been able to get them either by running the update script or from within Libronix by running update; but that was not the case.
