Thanks Logos for the high-quality tagging

I've just received some new pre-pubs, and was very glad to find that Logos has tagged them well. In particular, I was pleased that the multi-author books have the necessary tags for citations to work properly:

Köstenberger, Andreas J. "The Use of Scripture in the Pastoral and General Epistles and the Book of Revelation". In Hearing the Old Testament in the New Testament, edited by Stanley E. Porter. McMaster New Testament Studies. Grand Rapids, MI; Cambridge, U.K.: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 2006.

After this was introduced several months ago, I'd hope that this would be the new standard going forward, and it looks as though I'm not going to be disappointed.

I can't speak to the level of quality tagging overall. I notice with yesterday's Charlesworth, the DSS tags are touch and go (looks like about half work so far). The ones that don't, I manually pull up the resource. The Biblical commentary last week on the L3 side was a problem (and quickly rectified). I'd guess tagging is always going to be a challenge.

There are several frustrating DSS issues in Logos at the moment, but I think they're bugs, not tagging problems due to the complex referencing schemes. Any examples you could give?

On Charlesworth above, I AM a tiny bit disappointed the Talmud refs are similarly touch and go. Hopefully a copy/paste will work. I'm fully indexed and checked both L4 and L3 (same).

Regarding the DSS refs, they're fairly easy to find doing a 'find' on 4Q or similar. The Talmud refs are not so unique. But again, resources that are highly inter-linked are always going to be a challenge.

Mark ... my apologies for seeming to counter your compliments. But I suspect the whole subject of tagging merits discussion, if only to understand the process.

Continuing the saga of Charlesworth, I'm in the Testament of Moses intro where it summarizes the sections. But the self-tags bounce you over to Charles, which for me is fine, since it's another window, but it's odd. I tried prioritizing (using your new video by the way, and holding the control-key down, since Charlesworth is part of the Yale Anchor group (but that's another issue I don't understand)). In any event, I guess 'Charles' it's going to be for Charlesworth tagging.

Yes, I've found some Talmud references that aren't linked. I wonder if that's because this volume has been so long in the planning that it's pre-dated the Talmud? The DSS seem to work for me. Fragment/book names are generally not linked. but more specific references seem to be linked - though now that I've looked more carefully, usually to the wrong place! I do hope this is a bug, not bad tagging. I'm going to report it and see what happens on Monday.

I think this is all part of the same bug. The links in the Charlesworth introduction are to the Assumption of Moses, whereas the text itself is the Testament of Moses. Logos seems to really struggle with 'translating' two different ways of giving the same reference. I had a similar issue with the Prayer of Manasseh. I'm going to report it on the beta forum as part of the bug report I mentioned in the previous post.
