Copy Transliterated Text from bibles.

I have searched high and low. Can't find a way to copy transliterated verses from a bible display. I can make the display be what I want but when I try to copy and paste (several methods) I only get the english.

I want to be able to copy transliterations so they can be printed and then read offline.

Option: can choose to display transliterated verses, then Print/Export, followed by copying verses from Print preview and pasting:

i am pretty sure this works in the Mac....

You can have a Reverse-Interlinear Bible show you only the transliteration

How to do this

1. In your Bible (which has a Reverse Interlinear) in the toolbar click on Display.

2. In the pop-up menu click to check Inline. (turns on the Rev-Interlinear display)

3. Click to check Manuscript (transliterated). Also uncheck all the other selections except Inline.

You can then use your mouse to Copy/Paste to a word processor

Very good point! (although not all users have original language versions due to their base package purchase)
Also of note, you will need a base package higher than Christian Home Library to have access to the Reverse-Interlinears.

Steve and KS4J ... I never have gotten what you describe to work. It always copies the 'surface' text (typically the default top line) no matter what display is checked. I've tried it with the reverse-interlinears, greek interlinears and hebrew interlinears. There's got to be a trick to this. I also tried the copy/paste in addition to the print/export > copy to clipboard. On L3, I never have a problem.

I'm going to have to plead goofy!

Denise, when I use just simple copy/paste into the MS Word, it works. When I use Copy Bible tool, it copies the Greek text (the surface text).

P.S. Sorry, I realized now I am in the MAC forum, I hope it works the same as on the PC platform.

Same over here. Copy Bible tool does not give a transliterated option. Wonder if you could create a style for that?

In Logos 4 Mac, opened Greek - English Interlinear (included in Scholar's Silver and above), Display manuscript transliteration, Print/Export, select text in Print Preview, Copy and Paste:

in windows, if i copy by dragging my mouse over the text (which includes RI fields) and use Ctrl-C (Command C) and then paste it into Word, it pastes the contents of the clipboard into Word into a table (see image below).

I also tried the copy/paste in addition to the print/export > copy to clipboard

Printing works for me. i use a laptop and print to PDFs.

Exporting to RTF usually looses the formatting as you described. Not sure what other export options that Mac has. Perhaps exporting to HTML might produce something that you can import into a word processor in Mac.

Bohuslav, Jack and Steve ... thank you for your instructions .... indeed the 'trick' is where you paste to: MS Word (or some equivalent I presume). I primarily use an embedded RTF text processor that I put in my Bible software, and thus why the L4 paste never worked. Also my other RTF oriented applications don't accept it either.
