Converting non-searchable Greek PDF files into searchable ones

Hello, does anyone know of software that can help me convert an early (photographic) PDF with lots of Greek text (mixed in with English annotations) into a file which can be searched for specific words in Greek? Thanks, Peter

Check out FineReader from ABBYY Software. (EDIT: I'm removing the link I posted since this is off topic for these forums, but you can google it.)
FYI, I haven't used it, but they have a demo you could try.

I tried ABBYY software and it is good, especially for scanning (very precise). For pdf conversion to doc or rtf the best IMHO is Nitro. I did a couple of very complicated pdfs and it is very good, although the end result has a lot of formatting information, since it keeps the format exactly as the original. You can use also their cloud conversion utility and they send you rtf or doc to your email. The result however is not the same as doing it in their software on your computer (more advanced).

Thanks Bohuslav (and Todd); I've now tried both programmes in their trial versions, and neither copes with the Greek, I'm afraid. But I'm grateful for the suggestions. Cheers, Peter
