delete prayer lists and bible reading plans

How can I delete prayer lists and bible reading plans from the top heading bar on the home screen. I have changed to many different ones and they all are displayed even though I only use one.

There are two ways to remove Reading Plans from the home page ribbon (top bar):
You can delete the extra plans in the right column of the File menu (right-click on the ones you don't want to get the option to delete them.)
Or you can go to the bottom left of the home page, open the 'Customize' menu, and uncheck any of the plans you do not want displayed there.
