More Book Selections...

Hello
I know it takes awhile for Logos to "tag" all of our resources (i think). Is this what is holding them back from making more selections available, at least to the size of Vyrso? If so, have they thought about writing a program that will do this for them?
Thanks!

Looking at the Vyrso web site, it looks as if Logos is taking a bit of a different path with different types of books than what you would normally see in Logos. For instance fiction. My guess is that they are making contracts with different publishers specifically for a simple eBook reader. Therefore, there will have to be licensing agreements and such with companies that they may have never done business with before. Hopefully it will no be to long before Vyrso's official launch with thousands of books waiting to be bought and read.

Thank you for your reply.
I was speaking of the amount of books Vyrso offers. I'm sure we can come up with enough study material to at least match that. Do you think so?
I do imagine Licensing could get in the way.

I think you are right Rick. I also think that what we are seeing now is but a preview of what Vysro will be. I expect the number of books offered to explode in the next five or six months.
Of course, I have no inside information. I just expect Logos to become the leader in selling trade books and Christian fiction - based upon their history.

Logos has said Vyrso will have 25,000 books available by the year's end. That indicates to me the works offered will not require much tagging. I am guessing they have a file format conversion utility and any Christian books already available in some digital format will be recompiled for Vyrso. Most will be the kind of books one casually reads for enjoyment. I would hope Bible study books will still be offered through Logos and tagged accordingly. But many books by prolific writers like John MacArthur, John Piper and Charles Stanley could be released in Vyrso format without losing any value.

Me neither. Just guessing.
