I installed the beta on a rooted Nook Color and it works great. The font is a bit small but still readable.

I installed on my nook color as well. You are right about the font being small. I wish there was a way to increase the font size , you know like every other book reader out there can do.

Tom, I noticed that there are a couple of features planned. Font settings may be included in the planned Display Options. It should be interesting to see what a tablet-optimized layout might look like too. The planned features sound great, I'm looking forward to using the app more and more on the Nook.

I'm dual-booting between rooted nook and cm7. I had only installed it on the rooted side but just tried the cm7 side. The font is much more readable running the beta on cm7.

I've been switching back and forth and it seems that the font size is the same in cm7 but the weight is different...some headings are bold in cm7 that aren't in the rooted nook side. It does make it more readable, but it doesn't seem to be any larger.

I'd been testing this on a Samsung Galaxy S [EPIC] phone on Sprint.
My 32GB Lexar MicroSDHC [EDIT: Class 10] card finally arrived today, so I spent this evening installing Gingerbread to the card so I could run a version of Android on the Nook that would allow me to install non B&N apps...from the card. I don't want to root my Color Nook since I share it with my wife and her Angry Birds--I need to keep her experience stable and consistent. The downside of running from the card instead a rooted version is that there will be some performance penalty--and exactly how much has a lot to do with arcane design decisions by your microSDHC card manufacturer [if you can take the raw language, here is the best description of the issue/solution I've found: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12964262]
I found the process of running Gingerbread from the microSDHC far more confusing than I thought it would be--and I'm no computer novice--there are simply too many variant procedures on the web, with most of them oriented at rooting the CNook--or just leaving hints that running off the microSDHC was possible but too slow.
In case someone else wants to do what I did...and save a ton of time tracing down procedures that work [at least today]...I finally settled on this set of instructions: http://forum.androidcentral.com/barnes-noble-nook-color/79307-how-cm7-sdcard-easy-updating.html.

FYSA, the CM Nightly build that I used was cm_encore_full-118.zip.
I went from imaging the card, loading the Gingerbread image, booting it in the Color Nook right to config'ing wireless on the CNook then accessing the Logos website and downloading the Android Beta [after a brief stop to tell the CNook it was OK to download this and not use Android Market].
The library has been downloading for a while, and the app was sluggish while that first download occurred. The library is now loaded, and I'm off to the races! While it appears there is some overlapping of screens sometimes at the bottom of the touchscreen, I hasn't stopped me from doing what I wanted. The speed seems OK--but I'll need to play more to come to a conclusion. My attention was immediately drawn to how much more content I can get on the CNook screen than I saw on the Galaxy S--I'm lovin' it when browsing the ESV!

Just wanted to chime on my nook color experience. I've similarly dual-booted - stock on internal memory, and cm7 on the card. Works mighty slick. Looking forward to the further display options planned.

Things were working well for me until I transferred some media files from my PC onto the CNook SD card...since that time I'm getting various messages that things aren't happy. Thus begins my quest for stability in a non-B&N OS environment.

I had some problems running the OS from a class 10 SD card. I found that several others have reported similar problems...it works fine for a while and then starts with all the messages. Going to a lower class card or running on internal memory resolved it for me.
Neil, I have both running on internal memory. There's a couple of problems that I've experienced with this setup with a limited amount of ROMs for it, but I wanted to have more SD card storage at the time. I'll check the XDA forums for some updates when I have an afternoon free.
I'm loving the increase in screen real estate the Nook has over the iPhone

I attempted a number of uSD options, and finally settled on a dual boot from the uSD card. I followed the instructions here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4nenR-mNo0. Previously I had attempted a 3.0 Honeycomb from the uSD card, and a simple Gingerbread. I was not happy with having to remove the mSD card if I wanted to boot to the Standard Nook Color. I run the dual boot on a 16GB SanDisk card. Some hackers have mentioned that Class 10 cards don't work too well.
Anyway, I loaded up the Logos app this morning. I would like more features, and more books available for offline use, but I imagine that is coming. The Greek texts and BDAG look great!

Update:
After my initial SD boot image became too unstable to test Logos 4Android, I ordered a $10 8GB microSDHC card (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012Y2LLE) that was highly recommended elsewhere due to its unusually fast 4KB Write speeds. It arrived tonight, and after an hour of prepping the new card, rebooting, yada yada yada, I've got Gingerbread (an older RC candidate this time) running, and it seems very stable. I crashed it once in the Nook reader, but that may be also due to downloading a ton of stuff and rapidly running through menus.
I really love the L4A Beta on the Color Nook with WiFi support; the screen real estate produces such a nicer image size than I get on the Samsung EPIC, and WiFi is snappy enough to be tolerable. The 3G Sprint Samsung seems to always be waiting for data...if Sprint would actually roll out the 4G I've been paying for, then perhaps that phone's performance would be acceptable.
That said, I'm really excited to see more features hit the Beta; I'd guess that Logos just wants to reach feature parity with their iOS app, but I'm all for pressing further in Android and adding the ability to sync/view highlighting, then Reading Plan support, then add/modify highlighting. Clippings & Notes would be nice too, but Highlighting is one of my killer use cases.

Can you see all of your logos library. I have the scholars library and not all my resources are showing up. Anyone else have that problem?

Are you aware that not all of the resources Logos publish are currently available on mobile devices (mainly due to licencing restrictions)?
You can see whether they are currently available by looking at the product description page and seeing whether they have a mobile phone icon as below.
Logos are working to get mobile licences for these resource.
Does this explain what you are seeing or are you missing resources which you own which are mobile-enabled?

Page turning is a bit sluggish on my mirco sd rooted (cyanogen mod) nook color. Is anyone else having this issue?

L4Android page turning is without delay for me. The page turning in some of the other apps is sluggish if I have animations turned on.
Are you reading a really big resource? In L4Android, I'm mostly reading shorter stuff...300 pages or less. When I can highlight, then I'll start reading meatier stuff.

I've downloaded larger commentaries, dictionaries, and the ESV, but it may just be the read speed on my micro sd card. I'm using a Class 4 Kingston 32gb micro sd card. I may have to do some testing with a different card perhaps a class 6. Downlaods speeds are noticably faster with beta 10.
I wonder if moving the logs app to the sd card would improve the page turning issue.

Cyanogen Mod on the Color Nook is VERY picky about the small block read/write speed. Ironically, the "slower" MicroSDHC cards are the ones that are fastest in this category. I bought a very fast/expensive (Class 10) card, and Cyanogen just kept crashing. Bought an $8 card and it is very stable now.

Yesterday, the 17th of October, I installed a 32gb card in my Nook Color which I ordered from "http://www.rootmynookcolor.com". Their man there, John, has been very helpful and quick to answer questions. So I can now dual boot my Nook Color and it has the latest version of cm7 on the SDcard.
For whatever reason (I don't know the Android interface at all), I couldn't download the Logos Software app last night from the Android market but this morning, I made only one attempt from the Logos home page and it downloaded and installed without any problems!
Last night before going to bed I shut it off and booted to my Nook Color so I could read the book I was reading there and it was great just like before. Then this morning when I booted up again, I just let it go and it went to the Rooted side and I did as I said above. Very happy about that.
As I was going through and testing things I found the French Louis Segond Bible in the library but it is not to be found in my installed Logos4 Software "Gold" edition so wondered why? Anyone know the answer to that?
In any case I am happy to see my commentaries and books available on wi-fi, especially the good-looking Greek font in the SBL Greek New Testament.
I would recommend to folks to do as I have done because this method does not kill the Barnes and Noble Warranty.

Here I go again! It is now 29 December. I have been using my Nook Color two ways: with the rooted SD card and also as the native Nook Color. All works fine.
After the new update, all continues to work. Last night I downloaded the Baker Bible dictionary to my SD card. I have many, many books now on the card and many of my personal pictures. I have Netflix on it and Angry Birds and Scrabble, etc., all free apps. The Logos app works fine on my rooted SDcard and I have access to the current books I am reading. I have Google Books and B&N books, plus the app for Amazon and more.
So I can happily recommend the provider at http://www.rootmynookcolor or anyone you choose to go this route.

Glad to hear that you got a 32GB MicroSDHC to work; I wasn't so fortunate, so limp along with only 8GB. My root isn't smart about power mgt, so it will run the Color Nook down so far that the Color Nook winds up loading the B&N OS instead. A charge and then a reboot puts me back into the rooted version.

Yes, my 32gb MicroSDHC works fine. I understand that the card to get is the class 4 Sandisk card, more expensive but this works where others don't. That is what I was told so I sold my original card from Kingston and the fellow at rootmynookcolor did his installation on a new card. He told me his tests showed that Sandisk is the brand that works whereas others gave problems. I downloaded the Baker Bible Encyclopedia which is 2,200 pages!

I had to cut short my message because I was being summoned to table!
Many people say that once the Nook is rooted they never return to the Nook Color side of things. Why should they? Well, I do once in a while, but actually everything is on the card, my Gallery which shows the pictures so nicely and using DropBox is great too. But most of all, the Logos4 Android app works! And I can pick up reading what I was reading on my computer. I have not counted the books I downloaded from my library, but I will guess at around 20. I can read the Greek text from the new SBL with all the accents and in a beautiful font too.
Also, I noticed last night that reading the Baker Bible encyclopedia I can place my finger on the bible reference and it gives me the quoted text from the Bible. I am amazed that in a 2,200 page book I have the references available to me!

Very interesting thread.
I've researched the nook color extensively concerning rooting and running android on it. There is a company out there called n2acard.com and they produce microsd cards that will boot into an Android tablet without touching the Nook color. Doesn't void warranty, similar to booting into a Linux live cd but the sd card is persistent meaning you can read and write to it. There full access to the Marketplace just like a regular tablet. B&N has not locked the bootloader on the Color like they have on the tablet not allowing this to work on the tablet.
I would think you could use the Logos app and have access to all your library.

yep, the site you mention has a forum and some manuals that are useful. So far, I have 25 books from my Logos Library on my Nook and tonight before going to sleep started watching a NetFlix movie on my rooted Nook Color...just for the fun of it. It works very well. I could have bought an Ipad, but I am happy with my Nook and the size of it is right for me.

I installed Logos' most recent beta for android for the split-screen. I found myself not being able to get a split screen from the bottom right corner because of the menu buttons.
I am using a Nook color rooted with android cm7 on a sd card from android2nook.
Any suggestions for me? I really would love to use the split screen on my tablet.
I am able to have a split screen on my android phone.

Lievens on my status bar on bottom is the hide status bar button (looks like an upside down corporal patch). Hitting this button drops the status bar and you can get to the corner for split screen.
