Hello
What resources in Logos are best value for money?
Thank you
Paul
The first one that I think of is The Essential IVP Reference Collection VERY useful resources in this collection. It has been mentioned alot on the forum.
Yes I have that one[;)]
Not quite sure what you are seeking here. The Platinum Base Package is the best overall value. After that, it is all very subjective. What are your interests? What level of scholarship appeals to you? What is your intended use for Logos?
For me, the best value in training resources is Camp Logos Live—DVD and Manuals. If you can't use the available features, no amount of resources will make up for the lack of expertise. There is a cheaper video set out there, but you get what you pay for; I gave my set away three weeks after purchase. Of course, for inexpensive, you cannot beat Mark Barnes' free Unofficial Training Videos.
Beyond that, I would need to know where your interests lie.
+1 on Platinum. When it's on sale, I would give a thumbs up to WBC. After that you are mostly on your own as to one's purpose. I bought one reference last week simply because it would prove helpful to the writing I'm doing at the moment and it was likely less expensive than trying to get a print copy.
There's really a lifetime's worth of resources in Platinum alone.

This is very subjective topic. For an example, a couple of people have mentioned Logos' platinum collection. For me personally, this collection is a total waste of money. I might use 5% of this collection, and I would hide the other 95%. I personally purchased the original language collection, and I added on the items that I would (and I do) use. For me, this was the best way to get the best value for my money.
And, once you have a base package, don't overlook the items available in Community Pricing and PrePub. These are by far the least expensive items you will find - and the cheapest these individual items will ever be found.
The Platinum Base Package is the best overall value....
I think it was the best value. After removing Baker New Testament Commentary, Baker Exegetical Commentary, and Baker Encyclopedia, without lowering the price, I think, Platinum lost its best value
CP, I'm starting to think...

I had forgotten that those resources had been removed. One of the very first commentaries I purchased was John from the Baker NTC (Hendriksen), almost wore the book out during a pleasure cruise courtesy of the USN [8-|].
I recently upgraded from a low end Libronix package to Logos 4 Leaders package but am considering upgrading further. I was looking at the Platinum package but understand that it may not be worth the money because of the removal of material that was previously included.
Any other views given the changes in the new KF packages?
Thanks.
As far as value goes, the various journal packages are a steal when purchased all at once.
Theological Journal Library, vols. 1-10

Suggest looking at Logos comparison page => http://www.logos.com/comparison for Platinum resources that would be useful, then research cost to buy those resources. Then compare Gold upgrade with resource purchases to Platinum upgrade. Thankful for some non Logos web sites that provide more sample pages to read when considering a resource for purchase (e.g. In the Shadow of the Temple ).
Likewise concur with community pricing bids and pre-publications. Sales seldom go lower than pre-publication price.
Observation: bundles can offer better value than individual titles.
Keep Smiling [:)]
I upgraded from a basic to Gold to Platinum (before certain titles were pulled).
I would recommend at least upgrading to Gold.
Don't worry about titles that you think that you might not use. Add up the titles that you know that you would like to have. The base pkgs are always the best value.
