Bug: Chapter/verse chooser, in Bible or a standard books does not allow selection beyond the current

The chapter/verse picker, while reading, scrolls through the visible verses/chapters, but doesn't go beyond the current page being viewed. I tried this in both a Bible (ESV, downloaded) and a book (Augustine's Confessions, also downloaded). The Bible just allowed me to cycle through the chapters/verses, in the current view, and the book did NOT scroll, at all, since I wasn't at a chapter break when I tried. I'd like to make big jumps, not tied to the currently viewed page, forward or backwards through that UI control.

    I have a Samsung Epic and I found by accident that by tapping the corners of the screen, I can advance the page of any book or go back to the previous page.  The arrows which show when you tap the menu key do not work.
