Did I waste my money? Logos 4

I'm so frustrated. I have Logos for Mac (previously had Logos PC) and I excitedly ordered Logos 4 for Mac and it's doing absolutely nothing. When I open the program is says "Logging In" and then nothing but a blank box that says "Logos Bible Software 4 (Pre-Alpha Release 1)." And NOTHING is there - no books, resources, the new screen that's in the video, etc.

I'm very, very frustrated. I wrote support twice yesterday and haven't gotten any kind of response. What am I to do?

I'm sorry for your frustration! However, please realize that version 4 for the Mac is pre-Alpha Release 1. That means it is in an early stage of development. The developers will be putting out new builds on a regular basis to addresses problems like the one you're having. As it becomes more stable, you and other Mac users are able to help make it a better product.

Currently, you I believe that you can run the windows version of V4 through parallels, or continue to use Mac V1. I hope that it will become usable on your system soon. 4.0 is excellent!

Also, bear with the support team. Things are crazy for them right now with the new release. I know that doesn't make it easy for you, but it will get better!

Also, is there a blue icon on your screen that looks like this ? I'm using the PC version so it might look a little different. When you first install logos 4 it has to complete a large download, then index all your resources. Until that happens, you won't be able to do much. But it's faster than waiting for a DVD! If you hover over the icon, it should tell you what it is doing.

Oh, and keep asking questions on the forums. There are plenty of people here who are happy to help!

That blank box is the Logos 4 window as it currently exists for the Mac. Click the book looking icon at the top left and that should display your library, if it has downloaded.

As David mentioned, you should have a blue icon in the menu bar. Hover over it and it should tell you if the system is downloading resources. If it's having to download all your stuff it could take a little bit before you see anything. Once it finishes downloading it will still have to index, something that is not yet working well on the Mac.

I understand your frustration, other Mac users feel it as well, but Logos has promised that development will continue full-speed-ahead for the Mac version. What you have is not the finished product, but that finished product is coming. As Logos continues to work they will release updates for us.

Absolutely call. From what I understood yesterday talking to the sales rep. they are handling so much call volume that they are having a hard time getting to emails.
