Need Relative (vs Absolute) Navigation at all levels
Navigation is now functional (ie great job fixing the FC's! )... but not particularly smooth.
One area that remains painful: given a current "reading context" it is difficult to jump to somewhere else relative to where I am now.
This issue applies at several levels:
- When I open the app, it doesn't know or show my current book. I must "absolutely" select it again.
- If I want to view a different Bible translation, I must go back to the library and reselect everything (selecting current book/ch/v in another translation would be partly solved through mobile phone book linking if that ever happens... but in the meantime...)
- If I want to jump to a different chapter in the current book, the verse chooser requires me to find and tap my current book, then a chapter, then a verse. I should be able to simply change the chapter.
- If I want to jump to a different verse (in a big chapter), again the verse chooser requires me to find and tap my current book, then chapter, then I can pick a new verse. Should be able to simply change the verse.
Thus, in general while the app knows my current location in each book, the navigation tools do not know, nor is the UI design set up to let me reselect just part of my location without reselecting everything from scratch.
Most other reading apps are much better at this... Olive Tree, YouVersion, BLB (Blue Letter Bible) etc. Personally, I suspect the YouVersion chooser is closest to the current Logos chooser (but without the above issues). I don't really care exactly this gets solved, just that it does need to be solved.
Bottom line:
- Partial "address" selection is needed, ie change chapter or verse without reselecting everything (and show my current selection in each)
- Change-book while keeping current "address" is also needed, in some fashion.
