Problem on the Samsung Mesmerize
What I know, I have a Samsung Mesmerize running Android 2.2.
I have had this for 7 months with no problems.
I downloaded the Logos app and within 8 hours the program would no longer read my external card for any of my programs. I ended up taking it to US cellular and they said the card was bad.
We did a complete wipe and reformating and everything I downloaded worked again. Until I put the Logos app on. Within hours nothing would work on the external card. By the way I did download a few books each time, to save off line. 30-50.
I switched to a 32 gig external card and downloaded apps again, and everything worked again until after I put the Logos app on it again and downloaded a bunch of resources and then it stopped using the external card. Rather than lose all of my data again I just wiped out the Logos app and that didnot work, I had to reformat again and now the card is working again and so are my other apps.
One more thing the phone seems to run the logos app and everything else until, I turn the phone off and then turn it back on. At that point is can not read the external card.

In the meantime, have you tried moving about 32G of document files to the card to see if it develops a similar issue? If it does, you may be dealing with an interface issue between your phone and that specific card.
I had a similar problem on the Color Nook--and it got worse as the card got fuller of data. In my case, it turns out that when running off the microSDHC cards on the Color Nook, they are VERY sensitive to small block write speed (NOT card write speed/class). I bought an $80 cheaper card and things began running well for me.

We changed the way we download resources to the SD card in Beta 6, which we hope will address your issue. Please let us know if it continues to occur.

I got the new version and installed it last night. I put a few resources on and turned it off over night.
Turned it on this morning and all the information is still there and working.
I will spend some time downloading some resources today and check it out again.
I will then get back to you, but it appears the problems was solved!!!

Thid promblem is now fixed on my Galaxy!
I downloaded 70 resources and turned it off and on several times today and the thing runs great!
