Windows Slate Touch Optimization

Anyone using a Windows Slate with Logos 4?

If so, any tips on how to setup Bibles so I don't have to peck away at books, chapters and verses on the onscreen keyboard?

Swipe scrolling would be nice to. Scrollbars are just too small.

Really just need a touch friendly Bible - preferably NASB. Can't figure out how to get NASB 1995 to display "touch" navigation.

I'm sure you're aware that setting columns to '1' implements the page turning arrows and removes the scrollbars for each resource.

And you also probably know that implementing the left side menu for a resource at least gets you the books and chapters.

Both of these are found by clicking on the top-left resource icon for each Bible you're reading.

On my own software I wrote a go-to pad for Bible lookup (e.g. grouped the books to narrow down, and then number pad for chapters/verses). However I found that it's easier just to peck the entries on a screen keyboard. Just my 2 cents worth.

With the way technology is going it seems like there is going to be more than one way to skin a cat. Of course one person may like one way and another person hate it. One future option may be to run Android apps on a windows tablet. Since Logos is working on an Android app, this may be one way a person may choose to read books they have in Logos 4. I am not saying one way or another about it since I don't have any experience with it.

Yes--actually an HP TM2 convertible, but rarely with the physical keyboard out.

Others gave some helpful tips here--but ensure you are programming PenFlicks [http://community.logos.com/forums/p/1631/52265.aspx#52265]; that will go a long way to helping you. However, do not expect the interface to work as smoothly as L4Android does to touch--and most of L4 is not aware of the difference in pen and capacitive multi-touch. The maps are, if I recall correctly.

I use the Acer W500 32 bit tablet with Windows 7. I just installed Windows 8 on it and Logos 4 works just as well as it did on Windows 7. Microsoft has a set of API's which are easily available to .NET or Win32 programs that make an existing application "touch friendly" with swiping gestures and scrolls. It would probably take an engineer about 2 weeks to make Logos 4 touch-friendly and, since Windows 8 uses the same API's, would prepare Logos 4 for the "future". My feeling is that it would be a good investment in time for the Logos engineering group.

I am using a samsung series 7 slate tablet with windows 7. Swiping gestures and scrolling does not work, need to make Logos touch friendly.

Rebind the swipe gestures to Page Up and Page Down. I really wish they'd support the Scroll Up and Scroll Down actions as well as two finger drag and pinch.
