Managing Resources

I understand the issue with items not showing up yet (rights issues), but how will we know when they are OK? Will they just show up in the library?

I cannot find anything in the app where you can delete items - I would like the ability to only have in the app the stuff I actually use. Possible?

The way to do this is just open only those books and then look on the bookshelf under Library. Those are the books that you use on your iphone.  For example, the only books I've opened so far are the ESV, Thoughts for the Quiet Hour, Fresh Ideas for Preaching, 1000 Bible Images and Lexham Gk English Interlinear.  So that's all that is there. At first it seemed to be the first xx number of books in my library listed alphabetically.

BTW the Interlinear looks terrible on the iPhone. Doesn't really work there.

Interestingly enough though, if your "goofy" finger slips and hits the Spanish version of the Bible, then it appears to be forever in that little list, although I cannot read a word of Spanish.  I would like to be able to easily hit the delete key, so I do not even include Spanish books in my library.

    Good point.

Is there a book limit as to how many will show up there before being replaced by a more recently viewed book?

EDIT: this thread (http://community.logos.com/forums/t/3935.aspx) says it keeps track of the last 25 books.

I believe that if you don't want a resourse to show up (anywhere) you can go to "program settings" under "tools" and scroll all the way down... you will see "Hidden Resources".... add a title to that and it shouldn't show up in your program... (I think thats how it works)

Thanks for the feedback from everyone. To answer a few questions, books will just show up in your library automatically view when we get permission to distribute them to the iPhone. They will probably be trickling for a while as we work with publishers.

There is currently no way to remove books from the library view. The bookshelf displays the 25 books that you use most frequently on your phone. You can also filter the library view using the same syntax as the Logos 4 library filters. The iphone app currently doesn't respect the hidden resources from Logos 4, but that's a bug, and it's something we will be able to fix in a server-side update in the near future. A better way to manage your library on your phone is something we'll have to investigate for future versions.

Unfortunately Bryan, my bookshelf shows a lot of resources which are no longer available becase I accessed them heavily before they were locked out...

Should I just open and close a couple of other resources several times until these others disappear?

Sorry Damian, that's a rather unfortunate bug. Yes, the only way to remove them from the list will be to access some other resources to push the old ones off the list

Or you could just delete the app and redownload it.

Yes, I have the same problem. I was very proud of being able to open many things the first day of iPhone app. and then I lost that ability. The bookshelf was full of those resources however. But now it slowly fills with the new stuff I can open.
