Hyperlink question.

I recently asked support about hyper-linking from within Logos 4. They referred me to the training videos on Logos. Once there, I didn't see anything as to what I wanted to know. I am currently working with Logos 4 Bible Study.

What I wanted to know: is it possible to write a commentary, and hyper-link verses from within the program WITHOUT going on-line, and when your done, when you e-mail your commentary, the hyper-links would automatically become activated and will open in Biblia.com when clicked on?

Support e-mailed me a link to some "hyper-linking" page on the Internet, and referred me to the video page on Logos? While looking for a hyper-linking video, I didn't see any? I'm not sure where that video would be nested, if under a different name?

I'm not certain that I understand what you want to do but I'll give you my best shot.

From within Logos you can generate links that point back to Logos 4. They look like logosres:gs-netnotes;ref=Bible.Ro7.19-25;off=1016

If you want to link to a Bible verse in Biblia you can use ref.ly which is run by Logos and point to Biblia, it's pretty easy to use see: http://ref.ly/ they look like http://ref.ly/Jn3.16 so you can make them without actually going to the web page once you learn the syntax. I don't think you can generate these links from within Logos 4.

I can't think of any videos off the top of my head that addresses your particular question. If Mark Barnes' unofficial tutorial vids do it's not the main topic of one of them. This vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZMW1Mw3ZgI talks about embedding links that point back to Logos and not Biblia.com

A follow-up post. If you want to link to non-Bibles and Biblia you can do it on that webpage. You can then embed the link where appropriate.

Keep in mind that if you are sharing the document you might have resources on Biblia.com that aren't available to others without first purchasing them. If you don't log into Biblia you can limit yourself to the free resources.

Thanks for the reply Kevin. You got the question just fine.

Now I'll have an idea on linking with Logos. Picking up the syntax shouldn't be hard. Occasionally, I reach-out on blogs, and it would be nice to get a handle on this linking.
