Was working fine

I went through and did the 7.7 gig download and then spent the night indexing. My 1200 volume library transferred over fine and used Logos 4 for 2 days. Even after it did another 500 meg download and more indexing yesterday, things worked well. Today it did a minor (20 meg) update today with some indexing time and all of my books are now gone. Under the tools menu, I know longer have the Biblical People, Biblical Things, and Biblical Places available. Looks like I am starting over from scratch. When I was downloading and indexing, I did have the blue Logos icon in the task tray. Not sure what is going on. Should I at this time uninstall and re-install? Wait to see if it comes back after doing more indexing or whatever to itself? I am pretty patient but the thought of taking 12 hours or more for each hiccup is a bit to ask. Thanks for any help.

Been working with this for quite a bit. Restarted the computer, Logos 4... I have the startup page but all my resources, which were there for the previous 2 days, are still gone. Fortunately my trusty Libronix 3.0f is still available with all of my resources. Talk about seeing through a monitor dimly....

This may sound silly, but it is something I noticed during Beta... If you are just looking at the Library, make sure that there was not a "space" accidentally entered, because it will show ZERO resources in the Library window.

Check can check by clicking in the box and backspacing or try typing a title in the Library search bar.

Odds are it is not something this simple, but it may be worth a try...

Thanks for the suggestion. When I called up a previous passage study or even my collections, all of my resources are missing. I am really trying to get a handle on Logos 4 since I use it very often and really enjoy it. I am hoping that this is not a foretaste of things to come.

Not sure if this helps but I do have over 10 gig of data in the Logos 4 folder in the folder. Looks like my information is there but I still can't access them. I have no idea what to do at this point. Uninstall?? Not a good start to Logos 4.

I unstalled Logos 4 and then delete-d the remaining folders in the Users-Name-Apps-Local folder. I am re-installing from scratch now. I will see what happens tomorrow when I can use the program again.

My impression is that this is not a Beta product but a "working" piece of software. Is there a warranty in case of extreme dissatisfaction? I want this to work but I do not envision doing this more than one or two more times.

Hi Don,

I just looked you up in our customer database, and there are two accounts for you. "missionethiopia@EMAIL" has all your books, but "missionethiopa@EMAIL" (NOTE: missing "i" in ethiopia!) has none. (I've haven't given your full email address to help protect your privacy.)

When you sign in after reinstalling, please double-check the email address you're using and sign in with the "ethiopia" one, which will let you access your books.

Please also sign out of logos.com in your browser and sign in again, to make sure you're using the right account there.

Thanks for that piece of info. I am not sure what is going on there. Is it possible for Logos to delete the account that is in error? I did the complete uninstall and re-install and index last night and it looks like my books are all back. I will definitely keep that in mind in case this reoccurs. I enjoy Logos tremendously and want to work through these initial issues. Thanks again.

When I found the two accounts, I sent an email to the CS manager asking that they be merged; this will delete the account with the incorrect email (and thus prevent accidental an login using it).

I received a phone call at work from a very friendly Logos rep. and hope to have everything cleared up after I get home. When I was at an Iron Sharpens Iron conference in Portland, Maine, recently, I also had the chance to chat with a Logos rep. and even attend a session on the software. The people are definitely the biggest reason that I have confidence in their product as well as the product itself. I am still in process of seeing Logos 4 as totally different (mostly anyway) than its predecessor and will need to adjust put in the time and learn the software. After using Libronix for so many years, I almost forgot the initial learning curve with that.

Hi Don,

One of my computers updated that same smaller upate and lost many of the resources that were working before the update. They came up as unavaliable resources. I called it in and a tech is looking into it. Did not have the Biblical people, places or things disapear. They asked me to try and type "update" in the command bar and see if it updates...perhaps it will work for you but my updater is not working now. The indexing took all night and into the morning for my computer.

Yeah, when I lost my resources I didn't lose many but all. It appears that I have 2 accounts with very similar email addresses though one is not correct. Unsure of how that happened, hopefully an innocent mistake rather than something more nefarious. I did copy my Logos 4 folder onto an external hard drive, like I previously did with all of my 3.0f material. Hope things work well for you. The customer service is a highlight of Logos for sure.

I had the same thing happen last week. I was told that I had 2 accounts and they were being merged into one. Perhaps somthing happened with the merge of the two accounts? I will check in with coustomer support.
