Video Tutorials won't work on my laptop with Vista.

I can get the youtube.com screen; but when I press play, all I get is a garble of pixles at the top of a black screen. I can hear it fine...just can't view it. I have no trouble viewing youtube.com videos from the youtube.com site.

It works on my Windows 7 PC so there has to be something I'm missing on this laptop. I'm using Vista OS, Internet Exp. 9.0.1..

Is there a site I can go to find out what the requirments are? Thank you in advance.

If it could not play then you would be advised there is a control (ActiveX, etc.) you need, and then agree to install it, so I wonder if this was a temporary bandwidth/ISP problem? Tell us more about your laptop eg. video card, CPU & speed, internet connection.

I don't have trouble with other youtube videos or anything else? It's just those on the site..the whole vidoe is played, all garbled ,at the top. portion of the 'play area'.and only about the top 1/4, the rest of the screen is black.

The laptop specs are decent but the integrated graphics with shared memory raises some doubts. I note there are some right click options for diagnostic purposes

Try the Speed Test and different Quality settings. Have you got the latest Flash Player?

How did you get to that screen? When I use the Help, it takes me to the website "view online video tutorials"; there are no options like you have there.

Also, where do the screenshots I take go? I can't find them to post them.

Here's the information from the Win 7 Help file:

"Take a screen capture (print your screen)

Sometimes it's easier to show someone what you're seeing on your
computer screen instead of explaining it. In Windows, one easy solution is the PrtScn key. When
you press it, an image of your screen is copied to the Clipboard.
This is called a screen capture or screen shot.

To print the screen capture or send it to someone in an e‑mail,
you'll first have to paste it into Paint or some other image-editing program and
save it."

Many of us on the forum use a screen capture program that directly creates a file. A good free one is Jing.

Oh, ok Thank you. Still doesn't work..hehe. It's strange becuase I can watch Kay's videos from youtube, just not the Logos videos...they look like this...(Thank you for the info on how to put pictures here, I was looking for a file of saved screenshots.)

I don't have a ready solution to the problem, but I'd check to see if I had the latest Adobe Flash player update, and I'd check to see if my display adapter drivers were up to date.

One other question: if you select "Watch on YouTube" from the right click menu do you have the same issues?

Everything is up to date. And no, it will not let me run it from youtube either. That's where I tested other videos. Everything else plays..just not Logos help ...

Ah well.. I can watch them on my main PC...guess that's the way to go.

Ok..I might have found something that is causing my problem? I can't download 10.3; is that what the videos for logos are using? This is the message I get:

*Flash Player 10.3 is not currently available for Internet Explorer 9 (64-bit) Beta.

Download a preview release of Flash Player that includes optimized support for Internet Explorer 9 Beta (32-bit and 64-bit) from Adobe Labs.*

I also tried the 'download' that it links to; however, I don't know which one (? beta for 11?) There is no "generic download" for those who don't know what needs to be downloaded. <points to self>

The 64 bit version of IE is the problem. You'll need to use the 32 bit version of IE 9.
