Left Mouse Button - Mac

I have a Mac with a Trackpad - How do I do the equivalent function to drag where a selected feature will drop on the workspace.

PC instructions

1. Click a toobar icon or menu choice and hold down the left mouse button

2. Drag the feature to the desired location on the screen

If you have the newer model trackpad in which the button is integrated into the trackpad surface, you can move your finger while the button is held down.

If your trackpad has a separate button, push the button with one finger while sliding another finger across the surface.

Thanks for the tip. I have a right mouse button on the trackpad, so I am still wondering about the "left" mouse button if that is even applicable to the MAC UI.

The left mouse button is the primary button on the Mac (so if you only have one button, it's the "left" button). The right button is often used for things like context menus, and can be accessed by holding the control key while you click the primary mouse button. Generally, however, drag operations will be carried out with the primary mouse button.

Thanks, it's a terminology problem on my end,a single finger clicking on the trackpad is considered a left click - What was I thinking? Obviously I was not -
