First long awaited Bump!
Another year or two and they will be putting out a revised edition. [;)] Hopefully IVP can be persuaded before then.
That sounds excellent. I shall buy it immediately. Thanks!
I am unclear on which book this is:
Is it this: http://www.amazon.com/Historical-Reliability-Gospels-Craig-Blomberg/dp/0830828079/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1377733278&sr=8-2&keywords=the+historical+reliability+of+john%27s+gospel
Or is it this: http://www.amazon.com/The-Historical-Reliability-Johns-Gospel/dp/0830838716/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377733448&sr=8-1&keywords=the+historical+reliability+of+john%27s+gospel
What's the difference?
~Butters [:)]
Butters, the first of your links is a book about the historical reliability of ALL 4 gospels, and in particular the Synoptics (Matthew, Mark, Luke). The second book is specifically about the historical reliability of John's gospel. Traditionally, scholars have questioned the reliability of John's gospel more than the others, hence the important contribution Blomberg did on John (and the request of the original poster to get the book about John). But the one about all 4 gospels is good too.
Ah, yes! Woops! Am aware of the controversies surrounding John's - somehow, though, the respective titles didn't make it to my brain. Sorry! Reading too fast! LOL. Cheers!
I'd buy this book.
