Copy and Paste to lists

I think from the beginning when I open a list and “Add” a reference with the mouse (copy and paste) it adds nicely. However if I go to another reference and try to add a new reference to the list it highlights the old reference in blue but doesn’t over write the reference with the new paste.

Also if I delete the old reference, or backspace it, in an attempt to eliminate it, when I paste the new one it appends it to the old one as it re-populates the field.

Not typical windows function? I think this needs a fix.

Can you clarify what sort of list you are referring to here?

If I try and do what I think you are referring to in a Passage List it works fine.

Are you talking about doing this in a Notes entry or something else?

In L3 the highlighted reference indicates that a new reference will appear before it; it is only deleted with the Del key.

Ok - but still not sure what you are doing.

If I create a new Passage List and use the add function to add a reference

i get

i can then add another reference

and get

i can also add references by right-clicking on a Bible verse

which results in

How are you trying to add references to the Passage List and what are you seeing?

Is this on Windows or Mac?

as I understand WD40's orginal post, his problem is not adding elements to the list, but deleting them from the list by overwriting the title - I am not in front of my L4 right now, but I assume this function is invoked by a delete button to the right of an existing entry or a right-click menu such as elsewhere in L4 - can you confirm?

Sorry for the confusion. I'm using Logos 4 on Windows 7. I have an existing list that I want to add a passage to. So I go to file and pick the list that I want to add a passage to. In the passage I go up to the box which shows the veerese I "clicked" in and right mouse click the verse to copy it.

Then I go to the Passage List and click on the Add drop down arrrow. Now I right click and "paste" into the box. Vwalla all works fine.

However if I go to another verse and click on the verse so the window shows the verse and I right click on it to copy. All is fine.

However, when I go back to the "Add" drop down arrow in the Passage list the old/first entry show up. I can backspacee, delete, do any number of things and try to eliminate it. And it goes out of sight.

However when I click my mouse in the box the old reference shows back up and won't allow a new paste without backspacing out the old reference.

I think I understand - and see the previous entry highlighted in the Passage List add box

However, if you just start typing into it, or paste another reference into it, the highlighted "old reference" disappears (at least on my system running 4.3B13)

However, there may be a simpler way in doing what you want to do.

Instead of selecting the verse, copying it, opening the Add box in the Passage List and pasting you can just use the option in the right-click menu from the resource to add the reference to the Passage List directly.
