No Parallel Bible Versions Report?

The Parallel Bible Versions Report in Logos 3 is one of the key elements in handouts I give to my adult Sunday School class. I can't find anything remotely close in Logos 4. I tried using Help but all i got were referals to the Passage Guid Comnpare |Versions which does nothing close to what the parallel Bible Versions Report does.

Most if not all of the harmonies are now actual books if that helps. Go to the library and type harmony and then open the ones you were using the the reports, type a bible reference and see if this gets you close to what you want.

Use text comparison. At first it will look like verses are stacked vertically. They are actually stacked "automatically". which means vertical or horizontal depends on the size of the pane. If you run it along the bottom of the window it will put them side by side. Or you can set the text comparison to always be Horizontal.

Harmonies is not even remotely what I am looking for.

In logos 3 Parallel bible Versions allows me to select 3, 4, or 5 different translations to appear in columns side by side to compare. The translations i choose depends on the passsage we are studying but usually involve the ESV, NLT, and 1 or 2 others

Next Stupid question -- how do I print out this report?

Failing the ability to print, how can i copy and paste it or export it to Word?

Also, hover over a verse in a translation and hit F7. Or highlight a couple verses and hit F7.

Printing doesn't work yet. Logos explained to us Beta Testers that this has something to do with the Microsoft WFC (I think) interface of .NET 3.5, which is what was used to write Logos4. They said there are back door ways they can do it and will do it, but it is not easy using the programming tools. Since my programming experience is all text mode in the DOS days, I will take their word for it.

Cut and Paste? Well, I would try just highlighting it, but I assume you already tried that. Last resort would be to hit "Print Screen" and then paste the resulting graphic file in something that will print. The thing is that screen resultion printed out will look bad.

I am very appreciative of the help I'm getting from the forums. Thanks, all!

However, at this point I am forced to draw the conclusion that Logos 4 isn't ready for release. To be unable to PRINT? That is as basic to my use of Logos as any other feature in the program. No copy and Paste to Word built into the program? No PBB support?

The work arounds seem kludgey, the help files are not very helpful for someone who is pretty capable in Logos 3, no ability to print? I've tried to be optimistic and get into Logos 4, but if ANYTHING, ANYWHERE had said the it had no Print function yet, i would never, ever have bought the program upgrade. I paid to upgrade Gold to Platinum, and now find out there isn't even a way to get those new resources into Logos 3.

I'm stuck with new paid resources in a program that isn't fully functional, or my old resources in Logos 3 and a $425 hole in my wallet.

Yeah this works fine, you just need to do it from a docked Text Comparison panel (see Philip's screen shot above), rather than the F7 overlay. Ie choose Tools -> Text Comparison, by default it goes to a side bar on the right; for your purposes drag it across to make it big, copy and paste into word to print.

(Actually that's how I would print anyway even in L3, since then you have some control over how it ends up looking)...

I never thought about it but your right. The only thing I ever printed in L3 was the Verse list. Beyond that I always cut and pasted.

I am not able to drag the window to widen it. I can click on the window title and choose "Open in a floating window". I can then copy and paste into Word or, my preference, Open Office.

The reason you cannot drag it is because it is in a locked pane. A bar between panes indicates it is locked. These show up when you open certain types of things like Power Lookup, Bible Explorer, etc. (see image below) You can drag the tab to another pane and then you will be able to resize it.

I'm sure you'll love this answer but It seems like it always does. I can understand the reason of the locked window for some panes, but not for the text comparison. I think the reason for it is so that when you change the layout options (bottom left of the layout menu) panes in a locked window do not move. Text comparison should not be behind one by default if you ask me, but it is.

A month late on this thread but I have to second (third, fourth?) the "[Text Comparison] should not be behind one [locked panel]" opinion. Yes I can drag it over (glad to have found that tip) but I'd really love to see this open as a main panel without the extra work.
