Open search in a floating window

Didn't there used to be a keyboard stroke to open a search in a floating window?

CTRL+S opens a docked window in the main program.

CTRL+SHFT+S opens a docked window in the main program when you're working in a floating window.

I was sure at one point that CTRL+ALT+S opened a floating search window...

No?

I may have just confused it in my mind with CTRL+L to float a library window. Still it seems a useful request.
