Is there a way to be sure my newly revised collections are sync'd with the cloud?

I just revised most of my collections and I would like to know if there is a way to know when they are sync'd?

At some point, I would think one could take it for granted because how important sync is as a function in the program. I am just asking is there some way to make sure or pretty sure? Note: I cannot leave internet use "on" while I am working in L4 since it really slows the program down...I leave it up and running for about an hour after I am through working in it with internet use "on" so that it has time to sync.... I am wondering how much time it takes to sync or is there a way to double check.

Sync generally occurs within 1 minute of an update - you can hover the circular arrows "icon" and it will provide feedback about sync'ing. Modest updates require a few seconds to sync. If you want to be sure then enable logging. The Logos4.log will give details about sync uploads so you can tell which documents are being sync'd to the server, and whether it was successful e.g.

As I just built a new collection, with internet "on", L4 would not sync automatically. I had to type "sync now" before the arrows would turn and as I hovered over it the only feedback I received was a popup that it was syncing. Not what it was syncing. When you say "within 1 minute of an update" do you mean any change I make as a user to L4, e.g. revising collections? Thanks, Dave.

Do I want to enable logging, as you said and try to interpret the results? It is more work than I want to do and I wish there were an easier way to know. That is my opinion; others may see it an a simple thing. For instance, in the next quote, I see SUCCESS and then a series of alpha numeric whatever and then the words Commentaries False at the end.

In the log Dave copied, you'll see what to look for: lines having to do with SyncManager. Ignore the numbers you don't understand and look for a line with that designation followed by 'ResourceCollections'. As long as that line is dated AFTER you synced (or after you updated collections) you are fine.

If you left click on the sync icon it will manually sync. I do that in stead of using the Command Bar when I want to force a sync.

Thanks, Mark. What I find strange is that now that I am watching, when I add content to L4, it doesn't automatically sync. I have to manually do it. Or am I not waiting long enough for it to do it automatically?

Probably. Perhaps it waits for the cache to fill. Not sure.

If you hover your pointer over the sync icon it should tell you what your sync status is. I assume we can trust it if it says that sync is up to date.

The sync icon doesn't display right now. I have to type in sync now for it to display, it says syncronization is in progress and then it disappears right away after in syncs my latest work. I cannot hover over it to see if it will say that all items have been sync'd.

EDIT: it may seem as if I am beating a dead horse so to speak, but making sure items are sync'd have taken on new meaning for me due to the issues a few users have had lately.

Yes, the sync icon I usually see, too. So, I re-started L4 and it was back. But, what was strange is that before I closed the program (to re-open it) I manually sync'd several times and the icon spun around and disappeared right away. After, I re-started L4 and did no work, I click on the sync icon and it told me there were items waiting to be sync'd. It sync'd and told me all items were sync'd.

Now, I will not assume items are sync'd just because the icon spins; I need to see the message that they are and if I don't get it, I will re-start the program and do it over again. I guess I am trying to learn the correct behavior of sync and make sure I am not impeding it somehow.

Yes, Dave, I did learn that by trial and error. I have never paid any attention to the fine tuning of sync and other features related to my personal info. until now. I just took them for granted. Thanks for your help!
