BUG: Could not remove existing PBB resource.

My test PBB was open as I tried a Build for some changes. The book's tab was closed but I got this message:
"Could not remove existing resource. Please close all other open panels and try again."
I had to restart Logos4 to get it to build successfully.
NB. Closing all open panels did not make sense if it was the resource file that could not be removed.

This error has come up in a previous forum thread and, since we can't reproduce the problem, developers have requested to see a video of the steps up to the time of the error. Could you provide a screencast?

Not much good with screen casts, but the steps are unremarkable:-
- Change source
- Build
- open
- check
Repeat above 4 steps a few times, making small changes, until:-
- Build ---- error
Note that my file is very small

I've provided your document and repro steps to development, although I haven't been able to bring up that error with them. Thanks.

I often get "Build failed" in RC3 and it's very annoying to restart L4 each time.

i was getting this very periodically, but since i close the TOC for a PB before compiling i haven't seen the Build failed. There were some other circumstances which i think contributed to this which i have also avoided (e.g. keeping my other resources closed, keeping the Library or Search and other tools closed). This may or may not be the cause or help you.

It happens even if I close the PB, my one and only PB! I presume your other resources were PB's?

It happens every time in 4.3 SR1. I have to restart for every compile.

Development is looking into this issue.

My experience is that if I close the PB before rebuilding I have no problem.

Like Dave I am now having to restart Logos to recompile a PB, closing the PB doesn't do it for me.

Development has found that the error occurs when something else in the program is holding the resource open. The Information and Power Lookup panels can do this, as well as others. Closing these panels should release the book, but if that doesn't help, restarting Logos 4 may be necessary. We do not recommend deleting and recreating the book if this build error occurs.
We are also recommending that users not add a personal book to a Reading Plan until they have completed revising and building the book. This is because the Reading Plan appears to hold on to the resource more stubbornly, and restarting Logos 4 may not release it.
Development is working on a resolution to this problem.

It could be a Search panel in my case. I'll report back.

And it seems to be working fine for me now!
If the problem recurs I will see if I can pin it down to other open panels

I have had this problem when a PB bible commentary was showing up in the passage guide. After running the PG with a passage from another bible book I was able to delete the PB.

The situation is improved by closing the Search panel when I have searched the PB i.e. still not perfect.
