Recent development of odd highlighting problem...

I do a lot of reading and highlighting. In the last couple of days I have had an odd problem. About once an hour highlighting using shortcut keys will stop working. I will select a passage in a book, hit the shortcut key and nothing happens. I can hit a different shortcut key, still nothing happens. I can deselect and reselect the passage and hit a shortcut key, still nothing happens.

If I pull up the highlighting window and click on the style I would like to use, then everything works fine. The selected passage is highlighted and the use of the shortcut keys is restored for another 30 minutes to an hour. Then the process repeats.

Anyone else had a similar issue?

Btw, I'm running 4.2b SR-1. I think that is the latest stable release.

I've not had the experience Noel. I suggest you enable Logging (http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging ) Then attempt to reproduce the problem. When you've done that upload your logs (http://wiki.logos.com/Uploading_Logs) so we can take a look.

Remember, each time you start the program the logs are erased and restarted, so don't restart the program before uploading your log.

Noel, if you use a 2nd monitor, I have a possible answer.

I don't do a great deal of highlighting, but recently I have noticed the same thing. With my set up, it's when I'm shortcut HL'ing to a 2nd monitor. Again, I don't HL except in "spurts", and it usually happens when I'm extremely busy with other things, so haven't followed up on my "theory". Not sure yet if it's coincidence or if the 2nd monitor confuses L4 short cut commands sometimes.

That said, I highlight *a lot* and I don't recall encountering the specific problem you mention. My biggest vexation is when selecting text with my mouse & Logos decides to select entire chapters instead.

Thanks for the replies. I'm using multiple monitors but have logos only on one of them when doing my reading and highlighting. The fact that it is only doing this on my home office computer and not my church office computer or my laptop makes me wonder if it is just a quirk with that installation. Maybe I should just wait and see if it is cleared up soon since it looks like there will be a fresh update release any day. If that doesn't work, I will submit the logs.
