totally rockin'!!
Oookkkk....it's here....now explain what you're referring to [:O]
some of us are not as sharp as others....
the daily lectionary with the sanctoral (saint's day) cycle i.e. a complete lectionary which will be ever so much more useful in the lectionary section of the Passage Guide as well.
Trivia for the day: Did you know that the date of a saint's memorial is the day of their death? or their birthday into the next life, depending on how you look at it. Lou St. Hilaire really worked hard to make this work well.
Explanation:
1. One may use the standard readings for the liturgical day -Thursday of the 18th week in Ordinary time
2. Or one may use the standard readings from the Proper of Saints (or Common of Pastors)
3. The Responsorial Psalm has a Response (refrain) which is noted ... a new feature. Note that the Psalm itself is also back
4. The Gospel Acclamation, a verse used before the reading of the Gospel is included.
Note: the daily lectionary only uses 2 readings while the Sunday one includes 3 readings. The response, psalm and Gospel acclamation are frequently sung at least some of the time. Our parish practice is to distinguish between optional memorials, memorials and feasts by having more elements sung as you move up the ladder of importance.
I set up a layout of all 9 of the lectionaries in my Logos 4 library. There is a line to select a Bible. It defaulted to my favorite Bible. One of the lectionaries (maybe more) does not use my favorite Bible as its text base.So I thought it would be simple to select a different Bible for each.Did not work – clicking on a Bible reference opens my favorite Bible and not the one I assigned to the lectionary. Is there a way to assign a different Bible to each open lectionary??? (and if so Please post the procedure – thanks)
(my workaround is to ID what Bible is used with each and have all of them open)
[None, nay not one, lists the Bible that it uses for the bible Text. All seem to use the KJV except the Catholic Lectionary which seems to use the DR.]
Catholic Lectionary which seems to use the DR.
Which isn't even a legit option: depending on the country NAB, JB, RSV, NRSV and CEV may be used ... I'm sure there are other English options that I don't remember off the top of my head. but it is settable.
David,
The drop down for selecting a Bible determines which version's text appears in the lectionary itself. The lectionary displays the text of the readings from whatever version you select using that drop down box at the top, but this option does not control where the links go.
Where the links go is determined by your prioritization options. In your case, they're going to your favorite Bible. If you want to set the links on each lectionary to go to a specific resource, you can do this using advanced prioritization options. Instructions for limiting prioritization to a specific resource can be found here.
