How did all my guides go blank & is there an easy way to get the default guides back?

When I open passage, exegetical, or Bible word study guides (and previously custom made guides), they are all blank. The column is empty under the header with the verse listed.

I assume it is my fault, would love to know what I could have done to cause it, therefore how to prevent reoccurence.

Is there a way to get the default guides back?

This is the default way these open. If you enter a verse or passage and hit enter do you get the guide to function as you expect?
