Does Logos have a Bibliographic Reference File Available?

Hi Folks:

In addition to Logos, I also use a different Bible Software package that has bibliographic reference files available that allow the several hundred resources to be imported into Zotero, Endnote, etc. all at one time.

I have more than 2 thousand Logos books and was wondering if Logos has this available also.

I can get the bibliographic info for each individual book, etc. from within Logos, but I'd like to just import all of them at one time into Logos. Is this possible?

Can't be done yet.

I requested that capability in Logos some time ago. But sadly, it hasn't been taken up. [:(]

If Logos is to be really useful for serious academic work, it needs to address this lack.

Matthew, are you using Libronix (version 3) or Logos 4? You posted in the L3 forum, I don't remember if there was an export to biography in version 3 but I think that you should be able to get your information into your program, it just depends on what kinds of data it wants to import.

Look at http://wiki.logos.com/Bibliography where you will find instruction how to make a collection of all your resources and then export all those citations to any number of formats (rtf, txt, html, xps, BibTex, Refer/BibTex, RIS). Also at the bottom of the page is a method to use an SQL browser to export you library to Excel and I presume the program you use could at least accept a csv file.

Bottom line the data is there and you can get it but I'd have to know more about what way the data would need to be prepared for your program to import it.

Kevin's answer works in Logos4, but since you are posting in the Libronix/Logos3 forum, perhaps you are trying to do this in Libronix.

1. Click on Tools and then Library and then Bibliography.

2. Select which books that you want in your Bibliography

3. Select how you want them displayed.

4. While you have the Bibliography window active...click on File and then Print Preview or Print.

5. Now you can print your Bibliography from Libronix.

Thanks for the info for Logos 4. I wasn't aware of the Wikipedia page. Now I can do what I've been wanting to do for ages – export my library bibliography into Endnote. I don't think that it can be done in Libronix though (but I'd love to be wrong!).

you can use Export in Libronix which is under File (providing the active window is Bibliography) and export it to an HTML file. i don't know if that is useful to you tho.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I was able to run the bibliography and chose refer-bibIX as the style (there is also the RIS format style under there). Then I just exported it as a txt file. I was able to import the file into endnote (and zotero) and now I have all of my books ready to go for next semester!
