Author search

I used Search Author in Entire Library for ... to search for spurgeon.

I may have more in my library, but one I know for sure didn't show up - Morning and Evening (my base is Scholar's). When I use the circle I on that resource, I see under citation:

Spurgeon, C. H. (2006). Morning and evening : Daily readings (Complete and unabridged; New modern edition.). Peabody, MA: Hendrickson Publishers.

So why doesn't it show up? It is not properly indexed? Does this fail with any of you as well?

The search function that you are using is looking for the word Spurgeon that has been tagged with the author field. This field is normally used by Journals to mark the author of a particular article. If you're looking for books by Spurgeon in your Library, open your library and type author:Spurgeon (no space)

Hi Jacques

If you open the resource you mention and click on the little "i" icon you will get some resource information including a section on Search Fields. This shows what fields can be used to search that particular resource and, you will see in this case, that Author is not one of them.

If you want to check for authors you may be better using the string "author:spurgeon" in the Library panel.

It seems to me, Logos should understand this and handle the alternate search method itself! Well, now that I know I'll use this.
