All Morph Text in All Passages in BHS with Westminster Morphology

Can somebody maybe explain what was wrong in the syntax of this search?

Change your search from a Morph search to a Bible search and it should work just fine (did for me).

EDIT: Bible search should be: Search, All Bible Text, in All Passages, in BHS/WHM 4.2 for [with the search parameter above].

You probably don't have the BHS/WHM 4.2

Besides what Graham said (there's some good help there), probably the simplest thing to do is open your Hebrew Bible to the passage, right click on the word, make sure "Lemma" is highlighted on the right side of the right click menu and then click "Search this resource." The search syntax should automatically and correctly be inserted into the search engine.

I have three Hebrew bibles: LHI (Lexham Hebrew Interlinear), BHS/WIVU (with werkgroep informatica vrije universiteit Morphology) and BHS Morphologically Tagged Edition. Your suggestion works for LHI and BHS/WIVU not for the BHS, morphologically tagged edition. I think that this must be an error, or this bible is simply not suitable for this kind of search. I wonder why I do not have the bible you suggested, since I have the platina edition. Is this a bible I missed?

Here is a picture of the search Richard and Graham are suggesting, with the BHS/WHM 4.2 to show it works well.

Can you show us a screen shot of your search that fails and of the resource with the "i" Information Pane up (it's in the top right corner when the resource is shown)?

I do not have the BHS/WHM 4.2. I tried it with the BHS with the Richter morphology and that did not work. If you still want a screenshot, I could send you one. Look underneath. It may be considered normal, but you get the same problem, when you do a wordstudy from this version of bhs.

It would be nice if it could be fixed, but maybe not that important.

It works, see this:

Your screen post is searching for another lemma. Are we mixing apples and oranges? I think my image above satisfies your original request, lemma for אָוֶן

as seen in Habakkuk 3.7, using BHS as in your last image, which does return 73 results. Have I gotten confused? I am not sure I have the right resource as I don't see Richter morphology anywhere. Am I Missing a resource?

My BHS Morphologically tagged edition shows the following information on the information pane:

     LLS:1.0.201
     2006-03-23T21:05:57Z
     bhsmorph.lbxlls

Search results for this version are as expected (73 results in 73 verses).

To check your version, with the BHS open click the circled "i" on the far right of the bar that has the Bible passage input box, then scroll to the bottom of that panel and look for "Support Info." (To exit the information pane, click word the "Done" in the same place that the circled "i" was.)

That would seem to imply something is messed up in your index?

How do you feel about typing "Rebuild Index" in your command box on the home page? This may take a while (hours), but unless someone else has an idea I can't see why same search same resource is giving 0 results.

I see one difference though, yours has Chicago Manual of Style, mine has APA Style (4th ed.). I found out that also with the Andersen-Forbes Analyzed Text everything works well, but not with my version of the BHS.

It looks like you have the same edition/version as Dominick and I.

This suggests that there is a problem with your copy of the file or the index associated with it. What would probably fix both these issues (no guarantees it will solve the problem, if the problem is elsewhere) is to remove and re-download the resource.

To do that, first close your BHS. Then from the L4 top menu, open Tools> Program Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the Program Settings pane and expand "Hidden Resources." Press CTRL-L to open your Library browser in a floating window. Type "BHS" into the Library Browser text input box and find your copy of the BHS Morphologically tagged edition. Click and hold and drag it into "Hidden Resources" (it should appear there, without opening the resource).

Then close and reopen Logos 4 (this will remove the resource from your Library). Let L4 finish syncing (the little circled-arrows in the upper right will stop rotating, and if you hover over them with your mouse cursor it will say "Syncrhonization is enabled and all resources are up to date.).

Go to Program Settings again and scroll to the bottom of that pane. Right click on the BHS and select "Unhide." Now close and restart L4 again (this will download and index the resource).

When the resource finishes downloading and when indexing finishes, try your search again. If it doesn't work, report back and we'll have to do some deeper digging.

Normally, if I see redundancy, I'll delete my post. In this case I think my suggestion will probably work, and would take much less time. If it doesn't work, your suggestion could.

I'd suggest the same thing I suggested above. Dominick's suggestion may work, and if mine doesn't that would be the next step. But my suggestion could work, and would take considerably less time.

Hide and unhide the BHS on the offending computer, following the instructions above and report back.

Thank you very much, Richard, your suggestion did the trick very quickly, it is working now. Reindexing did not! I went this way first, since I am not a heroe n working with computers and thought that this would be the simpler solution. I was not so worried about the time which it would take, although it was considerable and for some reason after the reindexing was finished, it started all over again telling me that this was the first indexing. Although by experience I now am able to do a lot on my computer and am normally able to fix most of the issues, working on a computer always makes me nervous. Thank you also, Dominick and NewbieMick.
