Bradley,
The resource is a PBB I am creating.

I just tried to reproduce the problem and wasn't able to. What version of Word are you compiling your document in? When you click on pr select the Hebrew word in the Word document, does the language change to Hebrew on the status bar? (See below.) If you change it to Hebrew (by clicking on the current language on the status bar and choosing Hebrew), does it change how the Hebrew word is displayed in the footnote popup?

Melissa,
Thanks for replying. I am using Word 2007 on Windows 7 Home Premium.
The language does not display in the status bar like yours does -- probably because I haven't installed Hebrew language support. I created the file originally in HTML for the Libronix PBB, so I just opened the file and started prepping it for L4.
I have attached the file for you. 4111.HengsEzek02.docx

Thank you for the document. We'll take a look at it.
Follow up: The Hebrew in the footnote in your document appears correctly on my system when I click on it. I have the Hebrew enabled on one computer, but on another computer without Hebrew language enabled, the font still looks correct. I'm not sure what other variable might account for the difference, but I will continue to research it.

Bill ~ What is your Default Font in Program Settings? If it is something other than the Default, try changing it to Default and see if that changes your Hebrew text in the footnote.

Melissa,
OK, I had the font set for Cambria in Program Settings and when I changed it to Default, the problem disappeared and when I clicked on the footnote the Hebrew text appeared instead of the blocks.
Well, I still would like this to work with my font set as Cambria, not Default. But I can live with it for now.
BTW, on an out of the box install, what is the default font for both Greek and Hebrew in L4?

The Cambria font doesn't appear to support Hebrew. When I copy Hebrew text to Word, the font is SBL Hebrew. If I select the text and try to change the font to Cambria, it won't let me--it remains as SBL Hebrew. However, if I change the font to Calibri, it will change (although the Hebrew text doesn't look that great).
Greek font: Gentium
Hebrew font: SBL Hebrew

I guess I figured that if my Hebrew font was SBL Hebrew, any Hebrew text appearing in a footnote would use that font, but if I understand you correctly, that's not the case.
In creating PBBs with Greek and Hebrew text in them, should we use the default fonts that Logos uses?

I don't think that it's necessary to use the Logos Default fonts, but the result might look better if you choose fonts supported by Logos (i.e., available from the Greek and Hebrew Font drop-down lists). If you want a Greek word in your book to be recognized as a Greek word in Logos 4 so that when you right-click on it the context menu includes a list of Greek lexicons, you will need to select the word and change the language to Greek as discussed previously (and the same for Hebrew).
