I upgraded to Plat- but after spot checking some of the resources I have about 10 that did not dwnload with the upgrade- CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE TO GET THESE FILES FROM?
Please
whyndell,
So you're asking; where to get v4 resources from because you've installed and don't have everything?
Have you finished indexing?
And also...did you do the "update now" just in case they are another small download?
I had a similar problem - I had to call technical support. They resolved it on their end.
On my laptop it tells me I am updated.
It has not tried to index since it stopped 2 days ago.
I have found no "update now" function in L4.
Whyndell,
in the command bar....type the following and wait one hour...
autoupdate
or
update now
and
update resources
Well it seems to be doing something - it wanted me to "merge indexing" so thats what its doing on my laptop now.
By the way where did you locate the information to let you know to type "update...." in the command line?
Hi Wyndell,
I suggest you backup the information on your laptop to a portable hard drive and then use the the process outlined in the forums to install to a second computer. If you search the forums you should find the procedure. I also backup, for safety purposes, the index information from the 1st install and restored it to the second computer. While the 2nd computer went through an indexing process it was significantly shorter than the 1st install. Portable hard drives are cheap and you should definitely be backing up,
WOW! now its saying indexing will take 4 + hours to complete.
On the original install - it stated indexing was complete
It WAS complete. Once the main index is created, any new or updated resources can be added to a supplemental index. The program works fine this way, but it also gives you two lists in searches, which can be a minor annoyance.
Merge indexing is still a work in progress. Basically it means to re-create the main index again. They are working on this problem, but it is a slow process. I hate to say this, but you basically told it to start all over again. I know this isn't what you really wanted or thought would happen, but...
In the secret beta forum! Pls don't use "update resources" unless directed by a Logos tech. "Update now" will prompt for updates that may soon be coming anyway! If still no success after 1 day, contact Tech support.
You're lucky! Mine is currently re-indexing with 69 hours 33 minutes remaining. I end up having to leave my laptop in hibernate mode overnight rather than shutting it down which, in my beta testing experience, always re-started the indexing from the beginning. At least in hibernate I don't lose what I've already accomplished
