1.8MB update ready to download, but won't

On my (vista) laptop, the little blue friend tells me there's an update that it's trying to download; it's stuck (overnight) at 0% of 1.8MB. Now that I've started the installation on my (Windows7) desktop, it won't even let L4 load because it too is waiting for a 1.8MB update and is stuck at 0%. Not sure what to do. Thanks.

have you turned off windows automatic updates?

I heard that this can interfere with the logos updates...

Try this:

Turn off automatic updates

shut down logos

open logos

type in the command bar:

update now

wait and see (at least 30 minutes before you say your quitting and going back to v3

and then see if that helps...
