Export function for handouts
Hi,
Just updated to 4.3 over the last couple days. Was working on a handout and I cannot find an export function any longer. The panel icon just gives me some options for displaying the window and the Print button just gives me a standard Windows print dialogue box.
Am I missing something? Did the export function get removed? Or moved somewhere else?

Exporting has been disabled for handouts because it did not function correctly and was, thus, not very usable. The Print/Export item has been removed from the panel menu for handouts to make it clear the 'Print' button on the toolbar is the item to use for printing a handout.

That's too bad. Export worked fine for me and was very usable. Without that capability, it renders the whole Handout function useless for me. Any idea whether it is possible to rollback and uninstall the 4.3 update?

Rolling back to an earlier update is not a supported action since it can cause significant issues with the program. I can't offer you any advice for doing so.
As for the original issue, if I may ask, for what purpose did you export your handouts? You should be able to do all the editing/printing you need right from the panel itself. I ask because if there is a use for that function that Development did not consider it would be good to make sure they are aware of it.

I used the export so I could get it into a format for some post-processing of handouts I create for class. Mainly to apply formatting and page layout to the document that is not available in Logos. I would also use it to cut out parts of the handouts that I did not want (since Logos appears to want to fill the available space regardless of what I'm trying to do).
Without the export function, looks like I'll have to do manual copying and pasting into my final document. Which means a lot of switching in and out of the application. Since I'll have to cut out the generation of handouts from the workflow, I'll also lose the ability to have them accessible within the Logos application.

I haven't worked with handouts at all yet (tried a bit, found too cumbersome or at least counterintuitive for me), but if you are able to print, you might print to a file format such as PDF and do some post-processing with Adobe or with Foxit. Whether this is more or less efficient than cut&pasting into an existing handout template obviously depends on your individual situation, I just wanted to mention this possibility as a potential workaround.

I just caught on to this. I had not used my export function for over a year, and I missed it tonight. The purpose for which I was going to use it was to save the document to a jump drive, so that I could print it from another computer, or take it to FedEx Kinkos for them to make copies off of the jump drive. The reason was, I could not print from my computer tonight for whatever reason, so I'm stuck without a handout for my class tomorrow.

Idea: install a free PDF printer (e.g. Bullzip, Cute PDF) so can print Logos handout to PDF, then print elsewhere.
