Tiles Dynamic Association

Is there a way to associate a specific tile to open Bibles in...or
commentaries? This is what I am thinking. Since the resources are
dynamic, I thought it would be nice to designate a specific tile to be
the tile where Bibles are opened or another tile where commentaries are
opened. When there are several tiles opened and I open another
commentary or bible (or another designation) from the library, it would
be great if it knew to open that resource in the designated tile for
that resource. Lots on v4 and just wondering if there is this
capability.

Thats the way it works. If you have a tile with the Bible in it, when you open a Bible it will open in that tile. If you have a tile with a commentary in it, that's where commentaries will open. You don't have to define a tile for commentaries. simply having one open in a tile defines it as such. i'm not sure how it works when you have both a bible and commentary open in the same tile though. I do like you name "tile" over "pane".

I've seen you say this other places, but never tried it myself before. It didn't do it for me.

I have a two "tile" format - standard. I had NLT and ESV open in the left along with a couple of searches (I think I remember moving the second one there because it opened in the other pane) and a copy of the Pocket Dictionary for the Study of NT Greek. In the right I had a couple of notes panels (again, I'm sure I moved the second one there because it opened in the other pane), BDAG, BDF (which I moved there for sure, but it is not the same type as anything else that was open at the time) and Robertson's Grammar (I think it opened in the other pane from BDF and I moved BDF over there) -- I know I did a bunch of moving to get things as I wanted them.

So, after seeing this post I clicked on my shortcuts for the NIV and NET bibles. NIV opened on the left with the other Bibles, but NET opened on the right where no Bibles are. Just to push it, I went to my Library and opened NRSV and KJV - NRSV opened on the left and KJV on the right.

Have you done some setting somewhere that makes it work for you?

I like the idea of naming or grouping, but it isn't working for me.

actually this is the first I can remember commenting on it. I havn't tested it, just heard others saying "I've noticed, thanks for the feature". I have noticed it seeming to work, though.

If you see this, one other odd behavior I noted is that when I opened the various Bibles, all of them open to the verse I was reading in the first open Bible, except NET which opened to the cover page. I was in Matt 18:14 so the verse is there in NET.

Any ideas?

Nope. Mine does not do this. If I open the NIV to matt 18:14 and then open the NET it opens to Matt 18:14. is the translation the note or noteless? How are you trying to open it?

The title page says it has 60,000+ notes. So I guess the note version. It says LLS:1.0.1026
2009-10-28T17:37:54Z in the resource info.

I'm opening it from the shortcut on my shortcut bar.

I'll try something else.

Okay, when I open from my Library it opens to the same verse, but in a new pane - only thing open before was NIV in the left pane and NET opened in the right.

that will do it. the shortcut saves the page number with the shortcut. You can open it from the Library or the plus sign next to a tab.
