Free Logos 4 engine and Free Perseus books

Does anyone know if a person using the free Logos 4 Core engine will be able to download the free Perseus collection books now being offered?
I have a friend who teaches history who would like to use the Civil war information but doesn't have a regular version of Logos 4. I know he can get the free core engine but don't know if he will be able to download the free Perseus books.

Sure! The Perseus books are Logos resources just as any others (well, larger ones...). There is no indication to believe otherwise.
As there are free books now available from Logos, he can try this instantly and getting used to the program - just order the products per price like here http://www.logos.com/products/search?start=&sort=pricelo&pageSize=15 and "buy" those with a prize of zero. There is also a wiki page http://wiki.logos.com/Free_Logos_Books with more places to go. Most people (including Logos themselves on www.logos.com/4ways where the free engine is to be found) advise the Minimal Crossgrade (USD 69) for better functionality experience.

I do not believe the free Logos 4 Core engine will work with the free Perseus books. You will probably have to contact Logos to get a definitive answer.
If you go to the Perseus page you will notice it states that Logos 4.3 will be required. If you go and look at what 4.3 includes it is way more than what is included in the free engine.
I would be absolutely shocked if the Logos free core engine supported the Perseus books. I believe a user will have to have a base package that includes the PBB function for the books to work as the link from the Perseus page displayed above takes you here: http://blog.logos.com/2011/08/free-personal-book-builder-ships-with-new-logos-4-update/

Praiser, the Personal Book builder is however included in the free Logos 4.3 engine. I would not be surprised that Perseus would also work.

Agreed. For just reading and searching, all should work with these resources like any others. It certainly costs nothing to sign up for the Perseus collection and download the free engine, register with Logos, and await the news of resources to be downloaded.

I am sure that they hope to get many, many new customers for more than just the free engine through this offering. If I were Logos I'd be thinking about a 'Perseus bundle' to include some lexicons and other Greek language tools to tempt some folk who learn about this offer but aren't interested in Bible Study.
