Having run Beta programs, the toughest data to collect is when your tester is having no issues. (Sure, you can survey, but...)

If your Beta 9 is working fine, please post your device, OS Version like me

Device= HTC (Verizon Droid Eris)

OS Version = 2.1

Comments = No Errors - Just lots of good reading!

    Hi Edward,

Acer Iconia Honeycomb 3.1 Beta 9 -- works very well -- no issues at all!

Looking forward to favorites then I will be very happy.

    Alright, I have to questions:

    1.  Do Beta 9 updates download automatically on my HTC EVO 4G Droid Phone or is there anything I need to do separately to get the latest Beta?

    2.  Is there an app that can help me save my battery juice so it won't drain so fast when I'm reading my Bible or a Book?

    Thanks!

Doug, I'm using the HTC Evo 3d and the battery drain is amazing! (Not just for Logos) I'm not aware of an app that will help but switching off the automatic brightness control for the manual mode (found in the display settings), may help, especially if you are going to be reading for a while.

    1. You can set up automatic updates by visiting the Logos Bible app page in the Android Market and selecting "allow automatic updating".

    2. That's a great question. Certain phones will use less power when displaying mostly dark images, so selecting the Low Light color scheme might help conserve battery life if you have a AMOLED or OLED screen.

    Thanks,

    Douglas,

My wife and I just upgraded to HTC and Samsung smart phones and immediately the battery life disturbed me!

I jumped on the Market Place and found one app, Juice Defender, that has made a huge difference!  I installed the free version on my wife's phone and both free and paid upgrade on mine (I drain mine more) and we don't even plug our phone's in every night anymore.

I think the key is the program's ability to throttle down background internet usage as well as limited connectivity to specific times while you're not using your phone.

Let me know if it works out!

... additionally, the only qualm I find with JD is since it does control internet connectivity, sometimes after quickly unlocking my phone and heading straight to the internet, it takes 3 or 4 seconds to connect.  The settings for the program are fully customizable though

Thanks Paul and all the rest, I have followed y'alls advice and hopefully my batt won't drain so fast.  I installed Advanced Task Killer to keep some of the apps from running in the background and will definitely try Juice Defender.  I also did the automatic updates to be up to date on my Logos for Droid App.  I have Beta 9 so I'm ok for now.  I guess is because I just go my HTC Evo 4G last Friday.  Great phone! and the Logos for Droid app makes it even greater!

    Blessings!

    Doug,

When I first started using my HTC Inspire I, too, was real frustrated with battery drain.  I even had a problem keeping it charged while charging in the car and using the navigator.  However, the problem was resolved when I started using the "Advanced Task Killer" app.  You can find it in the marketplace at: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rechild.advancedtaskkiller&hl=en

My is working fine as well, but it seizes a huge amounts of memory, which I do not like. It has to be working ALL time on SD card.
