  1. Tools > Personal Books
  2. Add book
  3. Fill in title
  4. Add field > Publisher & Publication Date
  5. Enter a date
  6. Add file... (select an appropriate docx file)
  7. Build Book
  8. Click "Finished"
  9. Hover over the entry of the book you just compiled in PB panel
  10. Click Edit
  11. Change... (select an image file)
  12. Build Book

Result:

Build Failed. Could not remove existing resource. Please close all other open panels and try again.

This has happened to me once before, but it's not consistently reproducible. I'm attaching a log file where it happened (I tried it again several times after the failure, so it won't be the last time in this log file. Sorry.)

    Rosie,

I haven't looked into your zip file, but I think, the REbuild of a book has been reported a numbert of times lately (and has affected me as well over the weekend), which seems to happen regardless whether the book resource is changed or what is changed, so I assume it's not traceable to the cover image addition, but just the rebuild in itself. I may be wrong, though.

    2 suspects, either:

    A) You had a active search Library Pane open:

2011-08-21 12:04:06.5174 25 Info LibraryCatalogIndex Library catalog indexing completed; firing event.
2011-08-21 12:04:06.6204 15 Info LibraryCatalogIndex Searching for all records matching: edition:user

    or
    B) Indexer was busy reindexing

2011-08-21 12:02:34.9382 1 Info IndexerProcess Indexer is already running for user sn102t3i.yey with status PreparingLibrary.
2011-08-21 12:02:34.9382 1 Info IndexerProcess Indexer process ID is 18028; watching for exit.
    2011-08-21 12:02:34.9382 1 Info PersonalBookViewModel (4781ms) Compiling Personal Book

I suspect its the open library pane thats your culprit here..
