PB Build All - NoSync - 2 requests

A) I could really use is a (Re)Build ALL command..

I have a "clean" machine I dont connect to the internet, except that one initial time to verify licence..

I now have approx 40 PB titles now to transfer to it which will need built, that would save me a lot of time...[8-|]

A NoSync option - (Local Use only)

I am presuming, that just like notes, there will NOT be a way of withholding a compiled PB with the cloud?

I need one, I have obtained permission to digitally store some books from a couple of publishers within Logos for my own use, but thats the problem, my copyright use agreement with the publisher as it says I can only store the data on "MY" machines and not remotely, so syncing them to the cloud would cause me to breach the usage agreement, which I dont want to do - I want to honour their generosity rather than knowingly breach our agreement...

Therefore I hope you consider adding a NO Sync Option for PB

EDIT: Syncing the Documents Header as we currently are and not syncing the physical PB will be acceptable

Do you really want that when it will soon be possible to have the resources transferred; possibly with the scan command?

I'm not sure that PB resources will utilise the Sync mechanism or upload/download (BITS); hopefully the latter as sync is quite delicate with large volume Notes**. However, there would have to be a way to respect copyright, or specify share/no share and it would be an extension of the latter to restrict to the local machine only...

** consider the volume if a PB sync occurred after every Build!

Yes RE:A scan option much preferable, though havent thought about how I get licence over to ofline machine, so suspect no way around a local individual build.

It is possible with "Quick" transfer Method 1, or you can extend your sync window if PB "licences" will be sync'd. Note that PB info is stored in the \Documents folder and sync'd as a regular document.

I tried some time ago method of copying all lbspbb files from one computer to the other one and actually it works. after restarting of Logos, it prepares the library and indexes and the PBB resources are available. The problem is the PBB Tool keeps the old information, so I have in the PBB Tool let's say cover of the book still the old one but when I open the book it is the newly build book with the new cover from the computer I originally copied the resource.

I do not recommend the method before we know more information about it, but it is good to know it works.

EDIT: After copying also Personal Books folder from Documents in the Logos 4 folder on the original computer, it shows identical info also in the PBB Tool on the second computer.

Have you sent email to the CEO? A notice that Logos will be in violation of Copyright if they grab that PB to the Cloud. [[we need to suggest that it will be Logos that will be the ones in violation of copyright if that PB is taken by the Cloud]]

[this is on the Beta forum so most here know how Logos works - But do ALL users KNOW that Logos will GRAB their files and put them in the Cloud?]

David, I think most users are aware, and dont care, and neither do I for 99% of my content...

We have been warned in the past not to use Logos to store Sensitive information, and an apeal for option of not syncing notes was deemed not in the best interests, ie if your equipment goes down, because you have the notes in the cloud they are not irretrevable lost, and I accept that aguement for the majority of users is a good thing.

However I thought I would raise this point on copyright permissions while they are working on the sync update, if there is time to implement it it would make sense to do it at same time.. I know the Beta forum gets read, by the Logos employees (like Bradley/Melissa and others) who will pass the informamation on to the development team, so dont feel an email to Bob is necessary..

Besides he has likey already read this thread, he reads a lot of the posts AFAIK..
