I have the exact directory structure on my desktop and laptop for files related to Logos. Can I "link" my PBB file created on my laptop so I can access it from my desktop (again: the linked file is present on both systems)?
As long as you hit the compile button on both computers you can use the pbb on both.
Are you trying to make sure you have the updated file on both computers at all times? You can try Dropbox or Mesh. See my post:

Thanks for the input . . . the file(s) is (are) completed and finished so there's no editing being done to them.
My process so far is to compile the PBB on, e.g., my laptop which is then linked via URL to the appropiate Bible passage in a Note. It works great on the laptop. The "Note" shows on the desktop after sync but the URL link does not function (as mentioned, the file/directory structure is identical on both laptop and desktop) so the PBB does not open. Could it be that the PBB itself is not being synchronized between the machines?

Currently, PBB's do NOT sync between computers. More specifically, they need to be build/rebuilt on each computer. There are plans to have them sync in the future, but there is no timetable given for that.
What DOES sync is the information about the books (i.e. "Title", "Author", "Cover" etc.). Also, the .docx files should be in the same directory on both computers. They don't HAVE to be, but you will have to search for the files every time if you don't. The dropbox or live mesh method is an attempt to keep the files 1) in the same location on both computers and 2) updated on both computers. If you plan to create more PB's, you might want to give it a try.
