needed a simple picture of Jacob at Bethel. I have the Plat. version. Where are the books tha contain pictures, etc.? Has someone created a collection list that we can upload into our program without having to do all of that leg work?

I wish that there was a "Biblical Media" tool that would search all photos/etc.  I suppose one could set up a collection and search that, but it requires more work than I'm willing to do...especially since some photos are embedded in works and I'd wind up searching the text in those too.

I opened "Earthly Footsteps of the Man of Galilee" and searched for Bethel, finding about 6 photos.  You could use one of those and draw a stick figure [Z] on it [:D]

there are a couple ways you can do that.  you could run a passage guide for that text and see what the media search digs up.  Or, you could run an image search (under "Guides") for the text or character/item ("Jacob") and images will pop up.  Or you could do a "Biblical People" search (under Tools).  When I tried that last one, however, nothing came up for "Jacob", but I don't know why.  The others i did quickly and didn't see Jacob at Bethel, specifically.  There oughta be something, however.  Worst case: two images: Jacob.  Bethel.

Logos is ideally suited to any number of tasks, but image searching isn't it's long suit.  Searching google images gave me 271,000 hits on "Jacob at Bethel" in 0.34 seconds.  Now, no one would guarantee you that all 271k images will be appropriate for your needs, but just a glance at the first page, shows me multiple images that at first blush should do the trick for you.

    update:

I ran Explorer (tools) and inserted "Jacob" and it gave the one with Jacob's dream.  That also gave me a "Biblical People option" for Jacob--which makes me unclear why I couldn't get that when i ran Biblical people on its own.  (seems like I dealt with that a while ago, but I don't remember what the conclusion was).  BP has a bunch of images on the bottom you can scroll through.  however, the explorer has a "Media" section with a "Jacob's Ladder' picture.  Hope that helps.

In The Bible and its Story, vol 1 there is a section on Jacob's dream with a picture.

As you can see, it isn't a photograph if that is what you prefer.

    needed a simple picture

I have REALLY good luck finding pictures via the new L4 tool, Biblical People, Places, Things. It's even faster to find suitable pix if I can use a single tool (Tools | Bible Facts | your pick). Using the appropriate tool, I get icon images that I can hover over to quickly pick the one I want...

    Blessings on your searches!

    Grace & Peace,
    Bill

    update:

I just ran Biblical People, again.  I am able to get "Jacob (son of Isaac)" now, when I wasn't able to last night.  The difference?  Last night I quickly typed "Jacob" and hit <enter>.  The entry that appeared?  "Israelites, Jacob".  But nothing to do with Jacob the man.  Today, i typed in "Jacob" and waited before <enter>.  A drop down list appeared with many options.  "Israelites" was teh first, which explains why it was called up when I hit <enter> quickly.  So, the lag time between typing and the drop down list caused me to think that "Jacob (son of Isaac)" was not an option.

I don't know if a faster computer has better success than mine.  But note to the rest: you have more "People" options than you may think.
